Still working my grandfather’s … !
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
My parents’ house is located 3min distance by bicycle from TOUKA.
They are in the middle of ending life preparation.
Two truckload of garbage came out from old house in recent 2 months already.
Monday when I visit them my father told me “I give this to you”.
It was a small bag and there was one item in it, which brought back old memories of my grandfather.
I saw him using this carefully, when we travel somewhere together in my childhood.
In TOUKA, I tried to see Kanmon Strait through this and…
Everything looks bigger and clear surprisingly
I could see the name of ship printed on the side of ship.
I wonder how I use this, because I just bought one for our guests to see straits.
I decided to use this for myself and put it on a side of reception desk.
So far, I have used this everyday. I really appreciate to my grandfather, admiring his foresight of leaving this for me, who is watching sea and ships everyday. I decide to use this with extra care.

今も、まだ、使えてる、おじいさんの、、、！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
宿主の実家は「灯火」から自転車で３分。
現在、実家では両親揃って就活中、もとい 終活中 で、昔住んでいた家を整理中です。
すでに この２ヶ月でトラック二杯分のゴミが出ています。
そんなある日、親父から「これやる」と小さなカバンをもらいました。
カバンに付いているファスナーを開けると、、、
昔どこかで見たことのある懐かしい品物が出てきました。
それは子供の頃見た、死んだ爺さんが旅行の度に大事に使っていた一品。
コレで関門海峡を覗くと、、、
古いわりに意外と明るくキレイに見えます。
走っている船の船名まで見えました。
（この手の機器には新しい・古いはなくて、むしろ古い方が良いのかも）
ゲスト用のものを東京で買ってきたばかりだったので、どうしたものかと考えましたが、爺さんが大事に使っていたものなので、自分専用にと、受付のデスクの横に置いています。
最新のものと比べると、淡く色がついている感じで、爺さんの覗いた郷土の街が見えるような気がしてきます。
今のところ毎日活躍してくれるので、爺さんからの素敵なプレゼントだとありがたく、そして大切に使っていこうと考えています。 それにしても爺さん、「灯火」にぴったりな形見を残してくれたもんだと感心することしきりです。
