Good to be here on coming Friday in this port town

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

People who know, know that the best time of looking around this port town is “after sunset”.

It may strange the person who runs hostel is telling that the majority of tourists (specially Japanese tourists) will go back home or somewhere else after finishing after their one day trips without staying in the town. So some shops and restaurants start closing at 7pm and the most of them are closed at the time of 8pm, because they may know the tourist’s general behavior and custom.

When I walked around this town after 8pm on the holiday Tuesday, there were a few tourists. Because the next day is normal work day, most of tourists went back home.

However when I looked around the town closely, I could find several couples who enjoy working under illumination lights. It may not be big deal whether shops/restaurants are opened or closed. With not too flashy lights, they all looked romantic and they enjoy the world of loving couple.

Feb. 14 is just around corner and it will be normal Friday. So we can expect similar romantic atmosphere in this town again.

We do recommend to stay the Friday in this port town to the couples who are not affected by trends and maximize pure value of the time they are being together.

今週金曜日は、この港町へ

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

知っている人は知っているのですが、この町の本当の魅力は「陽が沈んでから」です。

宿屋をやっている人間が云うのもなんですが、この町を訪れる観光客（特に日本人）の大多数は宿泊はせずに日帰り観光で帰ってしまいます。それを見越してか、商店、カフェやレストランも７時頃から店じまいし始めて、８時にはほとんどの店が閉店していまいます。

祝日の火曜日８時過ぎ、この町を流すと、翌日には仕事があるせいか観光客が引き上げた後の閑散としていました。

ただよく見るとそんな港町をイルミネーション目当てで散策しているカップルをポツポツと何組か見かけました。彼らにとって、お店が開いているか閉まっているかはあまり関係ないようです。町全体を灯す派手すぎないイルミネーションは、そんな恋人たちにはとてもロマンチックで、どのカップルも二人だけの世界を満喫しているようでした。

おそらく来たる金曜日も平日なので、同様のロマンチックな演出が大いに期待できます。

流行に流されず、過ごす時間の価値を純粋に高めたいお二人に、この港町を素直にオススメします。

Once in a year

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Sunday was TANABATA (the festival of stars) in Japan.

After sending of our couple guests, who walked to the quay for night view, I looked up the sky for the stars.

As Kitakyushu is one of ordinance-designated cities of Japan, night sky is not so dark and we cannot see so many stars but it was beautiful enough on Sunday. (I tried to take photo, but sky looks much more beautiful through the naked eyes.)

When I looked down to the street, one stray cat also looked up the sky.

一年に一度ぐらいは、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日曜日は七夕。

ゲストのカップルが夜景を見に近くの海岸へ散歩に行くのを見送ったついでに、ゲストハウスから星を眺めてみました。

北九州も一応政令指定都市なので、空は明るく、満天の星空とはいきませんが、けっこう星空は綺麗でした。（カメラで撮ってみましたが、肉眼で見る方が格段に綺麗です。）

目線を下ろすと、野良猫が一匹、一緒に星を眺めていたようです。

同業者について、、、/ About our trade

About our trade

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Couple guests on the previous article are our trade. They are running their business at their house. They used to be host family of homestay and they are Airbnb host now.

This time, they were traveling through Japan, using Airbnb’s “Super Host” to meet with the people they had hosted as host family.

And I recognized…

that our trade is one of our best guests.

Because they understand how host is taking care their guests,

and very social and friendly from their experience as hosts.

Furthermore, we could enjoy talking together about some topics which we could experienced as hosts.

At parting, they gave me a souvenir and that made me really happy.

(Recently I have also brought small souvenirs to the host/owner of accommodations. Some people may not be able to understand but it is not bad traveling with full of friendship between people.)

I have decided to go and stay at their house someday in this Golden Week period in 2018.

同業者について、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

前の記事で話題にしたご夫婦のゲストさん。

実はお二人は自宅で宿をされているそうで、以前はホームステイ、今は民泊のスタイルで世界各国から若い人を受け入れていらっしゃいます。

ここと同じ仲介サイトを利用している関係から、「スーパーホスト」のタイトルのある宿を転々として、日本国中を旅行していました。そして以前ホームステイで受け入れた人達と再会しているそうです。

で、感じました。

やはり同業者はゲストとして最高です。

ホスト側の立場を理解した上で、当宿をご利用いただけたし、

ホストの経験から、とても社交的、

さらに、ゲストを受け入れるなかで経験する数々の出来事を話題にお互い共感できて、最高の雑談を楽しむことができました。

別れ際には「お土産」もいただいて、とっても幸せな気分になりました。

（しない人には訳が分からないと思いますが、最近では自分も宿泊先にささやかなお土産持って行きます。そんなふれあいに満ちた旅、、、自分は大好きです。）

彼らのウチにもいつか泊まりに行こうと心に決めた2018年のゴールデンウィークでした。
