When the wind stops…

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

There was old Japanese popular song which start with the phrase “When the rain stops”.

In this place, Kitakyushu,

when the wind stops,

when the sun shines,

and when guest reservations from the end of last year take a short break,

it is the time to go to the beach!

Therefore, I could finish 2024 New Year’s purification successfully.

The sky and the sea just after the purification was beautiful pink and waving like WATATSUMI, Japanese god of sea, sent off myself.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

雨が止んだら、、、ってフレーズで始まる昭和ポップスがありましたが、、、

ここ北九州では、

昨年末からのゲストさんの予約が途切れたら、、、

というわけで、2024年 新年の禊を無事終えることができました。

禊を終えた後の海と空は、まるで海の神ワタツミが見送ってくれているように美しく揺らいでいました。

冷たっ！でも寒くはない / Cold! but not chilly

Cold! but not chilly

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

As forecasted, we had warm sunshine on Wednesday.

So I drove to the beach.

Water is cold but I didn’t feel chilly on the sea.

Waves were small but my this year’s first beach was wonderful experience

It is more like purification ceremony than surfing.

冷たっ！でも寒くはない

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

天気予報で言っていた通り、水曜日は暖かい日差しが届きました。

そして、その恩恵をかみしめに海へ。

水は冷たいけれど、素手に裸足でも海の上にいて寒いと感じることはありませんでした。

波は全然でしたが、今年初めての海は上々の気分転換となりました。

それは波乗りというよりは、むしろ禊に近い感覚かもしれません。

それでは、冬の合間の春のような暖かい日差しを楽しむ素敵な一日を！

禊 / MISOGI

Japanese Title (邦題)： 「禊」末尾に

 

MISOGI

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On the first day of activity after new year holidays, I purified myself by MISOGI(禊).

MISOGI (Purification) That may sound like I am joking but the ocean, HIBIKI-NADA, city of Kitakyushu faces, has divine energy.

That is because,

HIBIKI-NADA locates between
SANIN ocean of IZUMO Taisho shrine which enshrine god OOKUNINUSHI (who creates island of Japan) and
GENKAI-NADA of MUNAKATA Taisha shrine and its goddess islands which enshrine three goddesses of AMATERASUOOIKAMI (Japanese goddess of the sun). Divine power comes from this.

Such cold and pure sea water from mother ocean purify body and soul of myself and I could feel that I got the divine power.

With the reason of infection prevention, I didn’t visit any shrines, Japanese symbol of idolatry, this year. But the benefit of MISOGI seems to be more than compensate for visiting any shrines.

禊

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

正月明けの月曜日、活動初めの日、まずは禊を済ませました。

禊、、、冗談ぽく書いているように見えますが、実はこの街、北九州の面する響灘には神々しいパワーがあるんです。

なぜなら、、、

大国主大神を祀る出雲大社の山陰の海と
天照大神の三女神が祀られた宗像大社の『神宿る島』玄界灘とに挟まれた海です。

そんな冷たくて清らかな水、生命の母なる海で身を清めて、心身ともに力がみなぎる感覚です。

感染対策もあり、偶像崇拝的な神社での初詣には行きませんでしたが、ご利益は補って余りあるようです。

それでは、パワー溢れる素敵な一日を！
