International Romance Scam?!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
The newspaperman who covered a story about this guesthouse taught me that the article was on Tuesday evening paper one week ago. So I went to library to check it.
On the evening paper, I was surprised by an article next to the article about us.
The title was “International Romance Scam”.
In brief, a kind of marriage fraud is getting popular in this country Japan. Group of Nigerians cheated middle aged local women, by pretending that they are Americans.
In this hostel industry, Nigerians are already black-listed. It seems such Nigerians started new style crime with using Social Network System (SNS) in Japan. More than 10 years ago, I saw many African guys cheated women on the street in Roppongi pretending as they are American solders, and that became the laughingstock of myself. Because they were obviously not like Americans.
Now they started “International Romance Scam” with targeting local intelligent middle aged single Japanese women. Their vitality made me feel even admiration.
So I want to alert local intelligent single ladies of same generation to take care with GAIJIN who speak/write strange English.

ロマンス詐欺？！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
ちょうど一週間前の火曜日の夕刊に、ここ「灯火」で取材を受けて出来た記事が載ったことを記者から伺いました。さすがに夕刊はとっていなかったので、図書館に見に行きました。
（「憂楽帳」という伝統のコラムに「通好み」というタイトルの記事です。）
けれども、紙面を見て驚いたのは、この宿の記事よりも、その隣の記事！
なんと「国際ロマンス詐欺」なる犯罪が流行って(?)いるようです。
簡単にいうと、ガイジンによる結婚詐欺のような事件で、犯人グループはナイジェリア人。地方の中高年の女性を米軍人を装って騙すという手口だということです。
宿泊業界では悪名高いナイジェリア人。とうとう新手の詐欺にまで着手し始めたようです。アフリカ人が米軍人を装うやり口は１０年以上前の六本木の路上でも散見されており、「こいつら絶対にアメリカ人のわけないよな」と思われるガイジンの執拗なナンパを横目に苦笑したことが思い出されます。
それが、そんなガイジンに免疫力の低い地方の自分と同世代の女性をカモに、イマドキのＳＮＳを駆使してまで騙そうとするそのバイタリティに感心すら覚えました。
同世代の、ちょっと英語のできる地方の知的な独身女性は、変な英語を話す／書くガイジンにはくれぐれもご注意ください。
（英語では International Romance Scam と呼ばれる犯罪です。）
