Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Just as the colors of the sunset we view here every day differ ever so slightly,

the types of guests who stay at this guesthouse vary every day.

However, these colors can generally be categorized by country, and sometimes further subdivided based on other factors.

Lately, while we are hosting, we’ve come to realize that there is a certain type of guests who stand out as being a bit different.

That type consists of…

…travelers arriving on the direct flight connecting regional cities in both countries, which launched about a year ago.

From the time flight began until early summer of this year, we didn’t have many guests staying with us who used that flight;

however, since the flight frequency was increased this spring – with at least one flight operating daily – we have seen a significant rise in the proportion of our guests who used that flight

As an accommodation provider, we are truly grateful for this situation.

(We plan to introduce the characteristics and traits of this type of guest later.)

I’ve touched upon flights that launched after the pandemic subsided, but what I really want to see flying* is…

…the direct flight from Busan, which has remained suspended since the pandemic began.

(Our primary reason isn’t so much a desire to increase the number of bookings; rather, we feel sorry for the guests from the Busan area who have been going to such great lengths to get here since the pandemic, without direct flights.)

I do understand the mechanics behind how airlines launch or suspend, increase or decrease flights based on their profitability and the interests of regional Japanese cities; however, lately I find myself wishing they would give more consideration to the travelers themselves.

(**When we look at flights departing from Japan right now, the third condition isn’t met, so we can’t go anywhere, can we?.)

このところ増えた新しい色

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

ここから毎日眺める夕焼けの色が、同じ夕焼けでも微妙に違うように、

当宿を利用される方々のタイプも毎回異なります。

ただその色は大きくは国別に分類ができて、そこからさらに別の要素に分類出来ることもあります。

おもてなししていて最近ちょっと違うなぁと実感しているのは、とあるタイプの方々。

そのタイプとは、、、

およそ一年前に就航した両国の地方都市間を結ぶ直行便でいらっしゃる方々です。

就航当初から今年の初夏までは、あまり当宿をご利用される方はいらっしゃらなかったんですが、

この春に増便となり、毎日１便以上飛ぶようになってからは、結構この便の利用客で当宿に宿泊されるゲストさんの比率が増えています。

宿泊施設としては、本当にありがたいばかりの状況です。

（尚、このタイプのゲストさんの特徴・特色については、追って紹介していきたいと考えています。）

と、コロナ収束後に就航した便のことを取り上げてみましたが、本心*として飛んで欲しいのは、、、

コロナ以降、未だ運休中の釜山からの直行便です。

（*宿の利用数を上げたいというよりは、コロナ以降釜山近辺からのゲストさんが、直行便の無い状況でここまで苦労していらっしゃっているのを申し訳ないなと思っているのが最大の理由です。）

航空会社の収益と日本の地方都市との思惑で就航したり運休したり、増便したり減便したり、その仕組みは理解しますが、旅行される旅人のことをもっと考慮してあげれたらいいのに、と考える今日この頃です。

（**今日本発をみると三番目の条件が満たされずにどこにも行けないですよね。涙）
