It is The Day today!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are remembering friends/guests from one country, who made this guesthouse full of smile and laugh.

They taught us various negative aspect of their own country such as,

deep worry toward very bad job scarcity,

exhaustion after challenging civil service examination many times,

frustration toward wishing Police officer recruitment exam with competition rate of 30 times or more,

feeling of despair toward obligatory military service which takes away wonderful time of life and chance to love with someone,

distress they feel every time facing to gender discrimination and inequality,

disappointment to have their own house in extremely expensive real-estate market, and so on.

However, today can be The Day for them. young Korean generation. The voting day for their new president.

We also wish for them to have every negative aspects will be improved under the new government/leader.

And we will have their smiles and laughs on the terrace of this guesthouse hopefully in coming this summer, after both pandemic and political conflict between two countries.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

新型コロナが感染拡大する前には、この宿を笑い声でいっぱいにしてくれたある国から来た若い友人・ゲストさんたち。

目の前の極度の就職難に対する不安、

公務員試験に何度もトライし続けた結果の疲弊、

希望する警察官になるのに立ちはだかる３０倍以上の壁に対する挫折、

人生の重要な期間や、恋愛のチャンスを奪う兵役への絶望感、

常に直面する性差別・男女不公平と格闘する苦悩、

持ち家の夢さえ見れないほどに高騰した不動産に対する失望感、

その他にも彼らの母国特有の色々な悩みをココで話してくれました。

社会に蔓延するネガティブ要素に、恋愛・結婚・子供・家庭を諦めそうになるゲストさんも少なからずいらっしゃいました。

そんな隣国の社会を一変することが出来るきっかけになるかもしれないのが、先ほど投票が始まった大統領選挙。

新しい政権下で彼らの悩みが解消されるだけでなく、

感染症も二国間の政治的対立も全て乗り越えて、

今年の夏あたりには、またこのテラスに彼らの笑い声が響くことを祈願して、、、

最近気になる灯かり！/ Strange Light!

Strange Light!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are not sure when it started, but a new light joined into the strait night view from here. And we can’t stop watching it.

In these times, the light remind us the sky during the war and it makes us feel uneasy.

Anyway, we often find ourselves staring blankly at the moving light in the night sky.

Someday, we will find where is the source of the light.

最近気になる灯かり！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

いつからかはハッキリしませんが、ここから見る夜景の中に新しい灯かりが加わってて、ちょっと気になっています。

時節柄、戦時下の空のようにも見えて、不吉な心持ちにならなくもないのですが、

気がつくと、その灯かりが夜空をさまようのをボーッと眺めていたりします。

そのうちにこの光がどこから発せられているのか突き止めたいと思っています。

それでは、戦時下の空ではなく、平和な空の下で素敵な一日を！

またまた残念、不公平！/ Disappointing and unfair again!

Disappointing and unfair again!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Today is Monday, the day people get excited toward working in brand new week.

The people who are energetic for work must not know, but I found another ongoing disappointing and unfair COVID-19 measure.

The name of the measure is ”Special Relief Payment for Lower Income Households”.

I could reputed the purpose to support needy people.

However it includes “Pensioner”. I know this system, because I kept visiting my parents house to take care my sick father.

From different angle, hard working people for less money but they pay even a little tax are ineligible for this relief payment. Even the people who got fired several times because of COVID-19 recession and changed job many times get ineligible, once they paid only a few tax.

Pension is the sacred field and it has never reduced due to pandemic. I simply like something is wrong that such pensioners get the special relief payment, 100,000JPY, which is originally designed for the people who lost income by the pandemic.

On further investigation, public assistance recipients can get the special relief payment too. Public assistance has also never deducted due to COVID-19.

If the special relief payment is the special measure for COVID-19 pandemic, it should be paid for the people suffering economical trouble from pandemic.

Am I the only one who thinks the world of honesty doesn’t pay is not right, as well as the world of the people using violence can win.

またまた残念、不公平！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

週末も終わって、またこれから１週間仕事を頑張るぞっていう月曜日ですね。

そんなやる気満々の人たちは知ることもないと思いますが、どうも現在進行系のコロナ対策の施策に、またまた残念で不公平感を感じざるを得ないものがありました。

その施策の名前は「臨時特別給付金」。住民税非課税世帯を支援する給付金です。

生活困窮者を救済するため、という狙いはとても評価するのですが、

その対象者にはどうも年金生活者が含まれるようです。具合が悪くなった父の様子をちょくちょく見に行くようになり、その仕組みを知りました。

視点を変えて非対象者の方に目を向けると、つまりギリギリの生活を送りながらも、仕事をし、少しでも住民税を払っている非正規労働者には支給されない仕組みです。コロナ不況で首切りされ、そのたびに何度も転職するような厳しい生活を送っている人も、少しでも住民税を払ってしまうと対象外です。

年金、、、これは新型コロナの影響では減額されたことのない聖域。その年金受給者がコロナ支援という名目で１０万円が特別受給するのには少なからずの違和感を感じます。

さらに調べてみると、生活保護を受けている人にも臨時特別給付金は給付されるようです。生活保護もまた新型コロナの影響で減額されたことのない聖域です。

新型コロナ対策の施策なら、やはり支援はその被害を受けている人たちに対して行うのが筋ってもんじゃあないでしょうか？

暴力をふるう輩がのさばる世界はもちろん、正直者がバカを見る世界もまた、望ましくないと思うのは自分だけでしょうか？
