Are you enjoying cherry blossom viewing in 2024?
By the way, there are many expressions related to cherry blossoms in Japanese.
Inspired by this word I learned this time, I went to my neighborhood to see the cherry blossoms, in the night!
The word is “Hana Akari* (Blossom lights)”
The meaning is that the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and their vividness makes the area feel bright even at night.
(at the park in this neighborhood.)
Japanese is the beautiful language, isn’t it?

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
2024年のお花見満喫されていますか？
ところで、日本語には桜の花にまつわる表現がたくさんあるそうです。
今回知ったこの言葉に刺激されて、近所までさくらを見に行きました。それも夜中に！
その言葉とは「花あかり」。
（行ったのは近所の公園で別段ライトアップなどしているわけではないのですが、花の周囲はほのかに明るくなっていました。）
漢字で書くと「花明かり」だそうですが、当宿が「灯火」だけにあえて「花灯り」としておきましょう。
日本語ってほんとに美しい言語ですね。
