Only in this town!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

We are introducing local event in next one month. After new year day, there are many events being scheduled, which are only events in this town.

At first, in 10th of January in new year, we have “Tooka Ebisu Hoekagodouchu” in Kokura. It is a special Geisha event in this town.

As we have never seen foreign tourists watching this event in recent two years, we want to introduce our guests to go to see this event in next month.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

少し先のローカルイベントを紹介していますが、年が明けるとさらにローカルなイベントがめじろ押しです。

まず、明けて10日には外国人観光客が喜んで写真を撮りそうなイベント、「十日えびす 宝恵かご道中」が開催されます。この町ではあまり見ることができない「ゲイシャ」イベントです。

このイベントを見ている外国人を見たことがないので、是非紹介したいですね。

Another fantasy of Light!

I said “Another”, but this is quite gracious light.
Yes, it is the source of our lives, the sunlight.

It takes about 40min walking from TOUKA to the top of a mountain. It is amazing experience to watch the first sunrise of new year there. We can feel refreshed, when we see the rising sun.

( It depends on your luck whether you can see the sun or not on new year day. We think that it may be interesting to think sunrise as free telling of 2019. *Pic is the first sunrise of 2017.) )

もう一つの光のファンタジー！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

もう一つの光のファンタジー、とは言っても、こちらはありがた〜い光！ そう生命（いのち）の源、朝日です。

「灯火」から歩いて登って40分。山頂から見る初日の出はなかなかのものです。一年の最初っから心洗われて、さぁ新たな一年を迎えるぞっ、っていう気分にさせられます。
（但し、見れるか見れないかは2018年の行い次第・新しい年の運次第。そんな占いのつもりで登ってみるのも面白いです。おみくじと違ってタダだし、、ちなみに画像は2017の元旦です。）

冬の花火！/ Fireworks in winter!

Fireworks in winter!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Unfortunately, fireworks on Christmas is not scheduled this year, but it seems that Count Down fireworks are still on schedule at Mojiko Retro area, if weather will be OK on new year’s eve.

The fireworks are the event which I could not imagine in my childhood but I really feels that it is very nice to have such event in my hometown. In addition to the fireworks, we can hear the horns from various ships running through the strait. That is the great custom as a port town.

I don’t think there are many places in Japan where we can have wonderful event like this.
(Not like Tokyo and Yokohama, we don’t need to worry about too many people at the new year event. That is the great thing too.)

冬の花火！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

残念ながら、クリスマスの花火は開催されないようですが、大晦日のカウントダウン花火は天候さえ問題なければ、開催されるようです。

自分が子供の頃には考えられなかったイベントですが、港町で新年を祝う花火が上がることはとても素敵な変化だと思います。時報と同時に鳴り響く船の汽笛も港町ならではのうれしい慣習です。

こうしたイベントを体験できる町は多くはないと思います。
（都会とは異なり、人の混み具合もそれほどでもなくて、それもまた有り難いイベントです。）
