The reason of uncomfortable feeling
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
I mentioned my uncomfortable feeling about Olympic games which will start 2 weeks later.
I found out why I feel weird, not like neither for nor against having Olympic here.
The reason is not that I fear the risk of further pandemic.
It is existence of COVID-19 victims in this one and half years.
According latest reports, number of death by COVID-19 is about 3 minion in the world and 14,889 in Japan (as of July.6). We can understand that COVID-19 pandemic is same size of disaster as East Japan Earthquake 2011, which had 15,899 victims.

Not only the death but there are still serious patient in Japan. There are not so many patients are getting well, so far.
Japanese original nationality and mentality don’t allow us to have any carnivals now. The gap between such Japanese feeling and what is happening in front of us made me feel very uncomfortable.
Are a lot of Japanese people pretending not to see the victims? It may be because the victims and their families try not talk about their infection. Our government seems to ignore it intentionally and even Japanese mass media seem to avoid this topic. So there are not so many people in Japan who try to cuddle close together with the victims and their families until the Olympic will be over.
The condition, people will have carnival in the year when more than ten thousand of people were dead, looks similar to the modern society in which people ignore existing bullyings and try to live as normal. That makes me feel weird. I do understand that Olympic is important for top athletes. but I cannot understand other people will have crazy parties with seeing it during this pandemic.

違和感の原因（わけ）
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
再来週に始まる予定(?)のオリンピックについて、なんとも言えない違和感を感じていることを先の記事にしましたが、、、
賛成とも反対とも違う、気持ち悪さを感じる理由がわかりました。
その理由は、これから起こりうる感染拡大のリスクへの恐怖ではありません。
この一年あまり、新型コロナウイルスに感染して亡くなった方々の存在です。
最近の集計では、死者は世界で約300万人、日本では7/6付で14,902人です。東日本大震災による死者が15,899人なので、国内の死者の数だけみるとあの震災とほぼ同規模の災害です。

今闘病中で苦しんでいる人もいます。現在の重症患者が全員快方に向かっているならまだしも、集中治療室で生死をさまよって苦しんでいる人も少なくないようです。
元来の日本人の国民性・メンタリティであれば、この状況でのお祭り騒ぎは非常識でしょう。そんな感覚と今目の前で起ころうとしている現実とのギャップが違和感の源だと気付きました。
新型コロナ患者やその家族が感染の事実を自ら公表しない傾向があるがゆえの見て見ぬ振りでしょうか？政府は故意に、理由は分かりませんがマスコミもこの話題を避けているように見えます。オリンピックが終わるまでは、犠牲者やその家族の気持ちに寄り添おうとする人は多くないように感じています。
今年になって一万人以上が亡くなっているのに お祭り騒ぎしようとする感覚が、いじめが起きているのに 見て見ぬ振りをして日常生活を送るというこの頃の世相と似ていて、なんとも気持ち悪いです。（国家の安全のためはやるべきではないのに、ずるずると戦争に向かっていく構図にも似ている気がします。）アスリートの晴れ舞台は必要ですが、それを見て”今”盛り上がる感覚はいかがなもんでしょう？
