Looking back last month, September

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Now, we are in October.

I am looking back last month and find out that I have so many things/events in September.

September starts with very very hot days and we have hosted various guests here.

And the biggest event of all for me was the death of my father.

He passed away in the beginning of September, just after he was discharged from the hospital and entered an elderly care facility.

Now I strongly think that it was very lucky for myself to come back my hometown after deciding early retirement from company.

As the result, I could be the last family member who could talk with him.

And it was better than anything that I could keep watching my fathers getting very very old and going to die very close. It was a huge learning experience for me.

If I am still working in Tokyo, I cannot face to my father’s death like this.

九月をふりかえって

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

日付が変わって１０月です。

ここで振り返ると、先月はほんとにいろんなことのあった月でした。

とても暑い９月だったことに始まり、色々なゲストさんにご利用いただきました。

そしてなにより自分にとって大きな出来事は、父の他界です。

９月初旬、病院を退院し、介護施設へ移った翌日に亡くなりました。

そこで思うのは、早期退職・Uターンしておいて良かったということです。

そのおかげで家族の中で父と最後に言葉を交わした一人となりました。

そしてなによりも父がどんどん老いて、亡くなっていく姿を近くにいて見ることが出来たのは、とても大きな学びとなりました。

もしまだ東京で働いていたとしたら、こんな風に父の死に向き合うことは出来なかったと思います。

それでは、家族との大切な時間を過ごす素敵な一日を！
