Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In the previous article, I proposed to stay here and watch the straits which the movie “A Man Called Pirate” is set in.

It is not only the factor which make that you cannot help exciting about the movie,

but also the view like this…

… makes you to have imagination of the ship “NISHO-MARU” in the story.

We can feel that It is because of pirate’s making big oil ship “NISHO-MARU” in those days that we are able to see such a huge ship in these days.

Sitting on the chair at guest room and watching ships go by make you deeply emotive for the story.

「なんという迫力でしょう！」

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

この冬に公開される映画「海賊と呼ばれた男」について、

先の投稿ではここからその舞台となった海を臨むことを提案しましたが、

ここからの海を見ることで、映画封切り前に気分を盛り上げれる理由はそれだけではありません。

なぜなら、、、

ここではストーリーに登場する「日章丸」を思い起こさせるこんな光景が見れるからです。

（当時）比類の大型タンカー「日章丸」があってこそ、いまこんな船がこの海を行き来しているんだなあと考えると、ゲストルームから海を行き来する大型船を眺めているだけで感慨深いものがあります。

Last Chance before the first run!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I know this is sudden, but …

don’t you come here to see the SEA?

Because the sea (straits) in front of TOUKA is very dramatic.

Million seller novel in Japan, “A Man Called Pirate”, is a story of one brave business man who acted like a pilate on THE SEA about ninety years ago.

The novel is now being made into a movie, “A Man Called Pirate” and its first run will be on Dec 10, this year.
I bet that the movie will be a big hit in Japan, like a previous work “The Eternal Zero”.

I mean the previous work as a movie with same producing team (author, director and main actor).

I picked this movie today for the article, because this summer may be the last chance for the fun who is living far from here, to see the setting of the novel before the first run.

I strongly recommend to see the SEA from this side, because Mr. Pirate moved around this straits without landing on the other side.

「封切り前ラストチャンス！」

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

突然ですが、、、

「海を見に来ませんか？」

見方を変えると、ココ「灯火」から見える海は、もの凄くドラマチックなんです。

で、どんな海かって？

「海賊と呼ばれた男」が暴れまわった「海」です。

映画に主演されるジャニーズ岡田准一さんのファンであればもちろんのこと、小説家百田尚樹ファン、前作(?)「永遠のゼロ」ファンにも是非、新作封切り前に「リアル海」を見ておいて欲しいと思います。

それも是非、「海賊」の本拠地「門司」側からその「海」を望んでほしいのです。

なぜなら、、その海賊は対岸にあがることなく、油を補給して回ったのだから。

ちなみに映画「海賊と呼ばれた男」は今年の12月10日(土)公開予定。

遠方の方にとって、この夏休みが封切り前に「リアル舞台」を見ておく最後の機会だろうと感じたので記事にしてみました。

きっと「映画」を10倍楽しめるはずです。

P.S. 当時の「海賊」はまだ暗いうち、この記事が更新された時間のずいぶん前から毎朝この地で出港準備していたんだろうと思うとワクワクします。

Summer! Japan! Night! and Fireworks!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It is morning, but talking about night again.

In these years, huge number of visitors from foreign countries come to Japan not only SAKURA (Cherry Blossom) season, but also in mid summer. According to TV news, one of the main purpose to visit Japan is to watch Japanese Fireworks. Foreigners interviewed by TV said that fireworks in Japan are quite different from those of their countries.

As TOUKA commands a fine view of Straits, Kitakyushu-city and Shimonoseki-city, we can see / hear fireworks somewhere around those area almost everyday.

Picture is firework behind Kaikyo Yume Tower in Shimonoseki, I took from the guest room this Wednesday. I guess the fireworks were set off around Kompira Park or its neighbor.

On Saturday next week, we will have a big firework show. “The 29th Kanmon Strait Firework Festival”

I’ve never see the show from TOUKA yet, but the fireworks can be seen much bigger than this photo. Because they will set off in front of Kaikyo Yume Tower, not behind.

So, it is very exciting for me to watch the firework, as well as the guests of the night.

We hope that many foreigners can watch and enjoy the fireworks on Kanmon Strait.

「夏だ！日本だ！夜だ！花火だぁ！」

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

朝ですが、、、またまた夜の話題を。

近年外国人旅行客が増えているのは周知の話ですが、桜のシーズンと同様に、真夏を狙って訪日する観光客が少なくないようです。ニュースによると彼らの狙いは「日本の花火」を見ることらしく、インタビューを受けていた外国人によると、日本の花火は自国のそれとは全く違うものだそうです。

「灯火」は見晴らしがよく、関門海峡、北九州、下関が見えるので、ここのところほぼ毎日のようにどこかで打ち上げている花火が見え／聞こえます。

添付画像は今週の水曜日に撮ったものですが、下関の海峡ゆめタワーの背後に上がっている花火が写っています。おそらく金比羅公園かその近辺で打ち上げられたものだと推測します。

来週の土曜にはこの辺りで最大の花火大会が開催されます。ここ近隣では知らない人のいない「関門海峡花火大会」です。

この花火大会を「灯火」から見るのは今年が初めてなのですが、おそらく添付画像の花火よりははるかに大きく見えるはずです。なぜなら花火は背後ではなく、タワーの手前で打ち上げられるからです。

というわけで、その夜のゲストのみならず、自分にとっても花火大会ワクワクするイベントです。

関門海峡にあがる花火もまた、外国人旅行客に喜ばれるとよいなと感じています。
