After sun set behind Hikoshima island, the other side of the strait, night darkness comes down on this strait town.

In a short while, we hear the distant sound of exploding.

We look out of the window, and find fireworks somewhere far away.

Depends on the day, location is different. But we see fireworks around the strait more often than before pandemic.

Big and famous fireworks festival at this strait, everyone looking forward, will be canceled for the second consecutive year.

However, if you are lucky, you may be able to see such firework here.

I personally may prefer to see small size event of fireworks.

コロナ以降、夏の風物詩

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。

海峡の対岸、彦島の向こう側に陽が沈み、海峡に夜の帳が降りてきてしばらくすると、

どこからともなく聞こえてくる弾ける音。

窓の外をみると、遠くで花火が上がっています。

日によって、上がる場所は異なりますが、こうしたことがコロナ前より頻繁に見られるようになりました。

皆が楽しみにしている大掛かりな花火大会は２年連続で中止になりましたが、

ここ関門では運が良ければ、こんあプチ打ち上げ花火を見ることができます。

自分はなんかこうした花火の方が好きかもしれません。

Which “one team” do you belong to?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It is so hot in Japan whole country, So is Olympic. Now is about halfway through Olympic period.

As usual, this kind of chart start to be broadcasted in this timing.

Specially in Japan, Olympic host country, prime minister was calling to the medalists directly to say congratulations and it shows his ulterior motive to get cabinet supporters by utilizing this Olympic.

I personally think that now is the time to change the concept of Olympic “Country Competition”.

Even though they are sports, fights for enhancing national prestige and patriotism are possible to lead people antipathy against some particular nations and war at the worst case.

As a manager of a little guesthouse which welcomes various type of travelers and operate mix dormitory, which is unbelievable style of accommodation in Japan 10 years ago, doesn’t matter nationality, age and gender in one same room, I believe that the concept of country or nation should be eliminated in near future.

It is good that people compete each other as individual or team, I think. But I feel strange and repulsive over the idea of “Country Competition”.

P.S. By the way, Suga, you have more important things to do before calling medalists, don’t you. Or delta variant of COVID-19 will spread out all over the country.

どのワンチームに属してますか？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

暑い日本列島、熱い東京オリンピック。オリンピックは競技日程もほぼ半分を折り返そうとしています。

この時期になると、例のごとく、こんな表が登場してきました。

特に開催国の日本では首相がメダリストへ直接、祝福の電話をしたことが報道されたりして、オリンピックを利用して政権支持へ誘導したいという下心が見え見えです。

個人的には「国別対応戦」というやり方はそろそろ変えるべきタイミングだと考えています。

たとえスポーツとはいえ、国威発揚・愛国心を煽る「戦い」は特定の国に対する反感感情や、戦争にもつながりかねない危険な感情を醸成しています。

あらゆる旅人を別け隔てなく受け入れるゲストハウスの経営者として、また「混合ドミトリー」という、国も性別も問わない相部屋という１０年前には信じられない宿泊形態を運営してきた経験から、もはや国や国家なんて意識は近い将来なくなるべきという思いは強くなるばかりです。

個人やチームのパフォーマンスを競い合うことは良いことですが、それを国という単位で括ろうとする力に違和感・嫌悪感を感じます。

それでは、地球人としてワンチームで素敵な一日を！

Keep concentrating without noises!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

This summer is very very hot in Japan. It is no longer cool in evening cool here in Kanmon.

So is Tokyo Olympic. It has been super hot!

In the previous article, we mentioned that it is very good for Olympic with no audience and will be good for future too.

It seems that no audience is good for not only some viewers like us, but also some athletes who has potential to be medalists.

When we looked around the other games, team Japan is in Medal Rush, even with no audience.

Audiences may not affect their exercise performance. Rather, they may be able to concentrate on each competition?

We have not heard about any athletes who boycotted participation to the Olympic.

Moreover, the Olympic games can be held in non-city area, if no audience and holding in quarantine doesn’t affect athletes’ performance.

The cost performance is also quite better in Olympic at non-city area.

静かに集中！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

今年の日本の夏はとても暑いです。関門では夕涼みの時間も涼しくなくなってきました。

そして、オリンピックも熱いみたいです。

前の記事で無観客になってよかったという感想、これからも無観客でよいのではという提案を書きましたが、

「無観客」は見る側だけでなく、出場する側にも良い結果を生んでいるようです。

日本選手団全体を見てみても、無観客でもメダルラッシュ！

競技パフォーマンスに観客は影響しないのではないのでは。むしろ競技に集中できる？

無観客試合を理由に出場をボイコットした選手がいたという話も聞かないし、、、

さらに言えば、無観客で、隔離して開催して、盛り上がれるのなら、都市部開催でなくても良いのではと感じます。

その方が「コスト」パフォーマンスも良いしね！
