The sound of this town

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I have mentioned about view from this guesthouse several times. And please let me talk about the sound this time.

Speaking of the sound, the most popular one is the horn of the ships going through the strait. But there is another sound which is typical here.

We can see the source of the sound from here.

Actually this spot is pretty famous for those in the know.

This is the evidence of that!

We can often see some enthusiasts with good cameras there in the weekend.

I am not sure whether this angle is good or not bad, but I tried to take one photo there.

We have had some guests of train riding enthusiasts but we have never had train photo taking enthusiasts yet.

This spot locates about 5 min walk from here. How about waking up around 5 am by the sound of crossing as your alarm clock and taking photos there whole day?

この町の音

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ここからの景色については何度も取り上げていますが、今回は音についてお話します。

音といえば、海峡を行き交う船の汽笛は代表的ですが、他にも特徴的な音があるんです。

その音源はここから見ることが出来ます。

実はココ、知る人ぞ知るスポットだったりします。

そんな様子がこちら。

週末になるといつも熱狂的な人がこんな感じでカメラを構えています。

自分もちょっと試してみましたが、こんな写真が取れるのでしょうか？

当宿には「乗り鉄」さんはたまにいらっしゃいますが、「撮り鉄」さんは未だ。

スポットはここから徒歩５分程度。朝５時台にその音で目覚めてから、一日中撮り明かすのも悪くないかと。

Spectacular!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

There were so many activities here during last weekend that I couldn’t describe them before Monday.

The previous article was up to the sunset and the sunset was pretty beautiful just before setting.

However the main event cafe after the sunset.

When I was back to this guesthouse, I heard plosive sounds from outside. As a festival had been held during whole weekend, I thought the sounds came from the port town.

But there was nothing happening to the port direction. I found that the sounds came from the downtown Kitakyushu. The area around the seaside stadium was very bright and unusual.

Thousands of fireworks were set off there.

Because of COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed to be the first time in a long time to launch 15,000 fireworks around here.

There was a distance from here to the stadium but it was quite spectacular to watch big size fireworks with the same line of sight.

Anyway, we can also see fireworks from here in the middle of August. So we think we have observatory superior seats here.

We do expect same scale fireworks show again next year. Of course we hope that Strait Fireworks Festival is also held next year.

壮観！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この週末の出来事は盛りだくさんで、月曜の記事にも書ききれないほどです。

先の記事は夕陽まででしたが、その夕陽が沈む直前がすごくきれいで、

さらに言うと、日が沈んだ後が最高でした。

宿に戻り、外から破裂音が聞こえてきたので、お祭りも開催中だし、いつもの港の方角かと思いきや、

今回は繁華街の方角にあるスタジアム周辺がスゴいことになってました。

コロナ禍の影響で、このあたりでは久しぶりの１万５千発規模の打ち上げだったらしいです。

少し距離はあるとはいえ、大型の花火が目の高さで炸裂するのは見応えがあります。

それにしても、お盆の花火も結構見れるし、ここは特等観覧席だなぁと思います。

また来年もこのスタジアムでやって欲しいですね。もちろん海峡大花火大会の再開にも期待しています。

端午の節句　福岡ならでは！/ Fukuoka’s special Children’s Day!

Fukuoka’s special Children’s Day!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In Japan, Children’s Day holiday (May 5th) is a part of Golden Week Holidays.

So many popular sightseeing spots and commercial facilities are full of families with children.

Specially Golden Week in this year is the holidays without any action restrictions after an interval of three years, more number of people have seemed to be recorded in many spots.

In such situation, as normally imaginable spots are full of people, we need to change our mind for the spot with less people and we decided to go into nature.

We went out for one particular plant leaves collecting.

With this leaf, we can make a Fukuoka speciality sweet. I will report what will be made later.

端午の節句　福岡ならでは！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日本ではこどもの日の祝日（５月５日）はいわゆるゴールデンウィークを構成する一つの祝日です。

そのために巷の観光地や商業施設は子供連れで賑わいます。

今年は特にコロナ禍の行動制限のない３年ぶりのゴールデンウィークなので一層の人出が記録されているようです。

こんな年には普通に思いつくスポットはどこも混んでいるので、ちょっと思考を変えて自然の中へ。

とある植物採取に出かけてきました。

これを使って福岡ならではの食べ物が出来るのですが、なにが出来るのかはまたあらためて！
