Strange Access Information!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
This is a continuation of previous post.
About air gateway of Yamaguchi,
Biggest regret is the information about its Access.
Airport is locating inland of Ube, but access is explained by-car and by-bus mainly.
It is OK for local Yamaguchi people because airport parking lot is free.
But if Yamaguchi really want to welcome more foreign tourists, it is sorry situation.
Not only the train lover like me, but also general backpacker prefer to use train which is cheap and on-time transportation.
However, airport homepage have a lot of promotion for tourist to use bus.
Specially, the access time to the nearest station is very strange. I was told that it was very recent that access walking time was shown on the information. That may affect that some transfer information site shows walking time is 20min (picture attached). Another site does not so much as show the route using the nearest station.
But distance between airport and train station is very close.
After using this airport several time, I know it takes about only 6 min. And it is more easy now to pull suitcase, because the road has been developed lately.
List of access routes between Yamaguchi-Ube airport to Komorie*.
(*= TOUKA’s nearest station)
**Route 1 (walk and train): 1,170JPY
Kusae station 9:51 – 11:46 Komorie = 1h55min, Change 3 times.
**Route 2 (bus and train): 1,690JPY
Airport bus-stop 10:00 – 11:46 Komorie = 1h46min, Change 2 times.
(**above are based on 9:00am arrival of first airplane)
Furthermore, it is still big regret that walking time 10min is still shown official guide.
(There may be invisible power between bus company and airport without considering tourist’s convenience.)

不思議な最寄り駅！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
前回からの続き、、、
山口の空の玄関口について、
なんと言っても残念なのが、そのアクセス「情報」。
北九州のように海上空港ならまだしも、せっかくの陸上空港なのにアクセスはマイカー主体で、公共交通機関はバスがメインなのは不思議な感じです。地元の方には、駐車場がタダなのでそれで良いかもしれませんが、観光誘致を本気で考えるなら、この状態は考慮するべきでしょう。
電車好きの自分はもちろん、一般的なバックパッカーは時間的に確実で、経済的にも安い、公共の鉄道を好む人が多いので、なおさらです。
ところが空港ホームページには乗客をバスに仕向ける仕掛けが満載。
中でも極みが、空港から最寄り駅までの移動時間の表示。なんでも最寄りの草江駅までの徒歩距離が空港情報に明記されたのは最近とのこと。その当時の名残なのか、いまでも ある乗り換え情報サイトではこんな検索結果が出てきます。 さらにもう一つのサイトでは出発を山口宇部空港にすると草江駅経由は出て来さえしません。
でも実際は駅からはこんなに近いんです。駅すぐそばに管制塔が見えます。
ここのところ何度も利用して分かったのですが、ゆっくり歩いても6分でチケットカウンターに着きます。 さらに最近では駅近くの道路が綺麗になったので、スーツケースを転がすのも楽になりました。
その歩行距離は京急「羽田空港国内線ターミナル駅」ホームから羽田国内線のチケットカウンターまでより近いぐらいです。
尚、灯火の最寄り駅「小森江」までのアクセス時間と料金を列記すると、
・経路1(徒歩 – ＪＲ):
草江駅 09:51発 → 11:46着 1時間55分 乗換 3回 1,170円
・経路2(バス – ＪＲ):
空港発 10:00発 → 11:46着 1時間46分 乗換 2回 1,690円
（＊最初の到着便 9:00着を起点に調査。その金額差はデカい！）
今でも空港の正式情報には徒歩10分となっているのが、非常に残念です。
（もしかしたら「サ」で始まる大手バス会社と何かあるのかな？）
あまりに残念すぎて 今回はここまで、、、 次回に続きます。
