a Little Man v.s. an Huge Ship!
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
Tue., Sep. 27, I had exciting and restless morning.
Start preparing camera and tripod about 6:00am. Go back and force, between the lighthouse and TOUKA. Keep checking camera position all the time.
Time was 7:40am and white big one emerged from behind Hikoshima island.
Yes! it was white elegant body of “ASUKA II”
She moved in slowly into OOSETO channel of Kanmon Strait. She looked really majestic!
She veered to the 059° line which is made by two lighthouses.
When she met me face to face, who is standing in front of upper lighthouse.
Suddenly, she blew horn twice briefly.
It was the sign of “port the helm” but I believe that the horn was for myself waving both hands, because no other ships near by. It was really exciting moment.
I went back into TOUKA and chased her till she was moored to Port of Moji.
It is lucky and exciting that I can see such a big ship moving from TOUKA.
With seeing “ASUKA II” is cruising in Kanmon, I recognized that I prefer ship moving than ship moored to the pier.

ちっぽけなオトコ 対 巨大客船！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
9月27日火曜日は、朝からソワソワ・わくわくしていました。
6時頃から三脚やらカメラの準備を始め、ゲストハウス横の灯台と客室とを何度も行き来し、カメラ位置の確認に余念がありません。
そうこうしているうちに 7:40になり、
灯台下に陣取る自分達からみて右手、彦島の影から大きな姿が見えてきました。
そうです、「飛鳥II」の優美な船体です。
ゆっくり静かに関門海峡大瀬戸に入ってきました。その姿はまさに威風堂々！
この灯台の示す進路に合わせる様に船はゆっくりと変針し、自分と正対します。
その時です。 飛鳥II が「取舵中」を伝える汽笛（短音二回）を鳴らしました。
その時点で、大瀬戸には留意すべき他船は見当たらなかったので、大瀬戸第三導灯（上）の前で大きく両手を振る自分を見つけて、汽笛を鳴らしてくれたのだと信じています。勝手な思い込みだと思われるかもしれませんが、これには結構感動しました。
その後、飛鳥II が一旦マンションの影に隠れたところで宿に戻り、引き続き、灯火の二階窓から門司港に入港するまで、その姿を追いました。
このちいさい宿から、こんな素晴らしい光景が見れるなんて感激です。
海峡をゆっくり進むその姿を見ながら、セーラーでもある自分は、やっぱり桟橋に係留されていて動かない船よりも、海を航行している船の方が好きだなぁと再認識しました。
