Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
About 5 months has passed, since I came back from Tokyo to my home area “KANMON”. Without considering home town, it is very easy living here as advertised by the city of Kitakyushu.
Public transportations, such as train and bus, are very frequent and convenient. If you get a car, your footwork is perfect after the day of you start driving.
However, most of people concern about cost of living more than transportation.
I show you how easy.
Attached are the pictures of popular discount store of this area.
Daily shopping items are extremely cheap and those are often sold out pretty early.
Major population, elder people also come to this store by carpool with their friends.
If you can live carefully for human relation, you may be able to join barter community and key word is “smile and give first”.
I recommend to list Kitakyushu up, if you are planing to downshift but don’t want to loose convenience. This is really valued area, I guarantee.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
さてさて、東京から関門へUターンしてきて、5ヶ月ほどになりますが、、、故郷ということを除いても、前評判通り、たしかに住みやすいです。
公共交通機関は発達し、通勤時間にはほぼ10分おきに電車は出るし、この地のバス会社も頑張っています。
公共交通機関を使わなくても、車さえ手に入れれば、足回りは天国です。
でも交通の利便性よりも気になるのは、やはりCost of Living！
これについては、具体例を見ていただきましょう。

よく消費される品目については東京と比べるともう涙が出るくらいです。
もちろん申し訳なくて、、、
もやしなんて、使わないかもしれないけど、この値段だから取り合えずカゴに入れとこうという人が多くて、いつも品薄です。
お年寄りの多い町ですが、結構皆さんお誘い合わせで便乗して買い物に来られている人も少なくなく。昼も夕方も比較的早い時間が混んでいるようです。
なので、東京タイムで生活すると意外と空いていたりします。
（但し、商品はなくなっているかも：笑）
また、この地域、人と人との繋がりに気をつけて生活しさえすれば、貨幣経済に頼らない流通のループに加わることも比較的容易かもしれません。基本は自分から笑顔でギブです。
もし、ダウンシフトはするけれど、利便性はキープしながら精神的に満たされた生活を送りたい場合は、是非とも「北九州」、候補に入れておくことをオススメします。
