What are they eating? Looks very yummy!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Don’t you have any experience such as

“What are they eating? It looks very tasty!”
“But I cannot read their menu board. Finally I cannot get it.”

It happens here too.

kashiwaudon11

If we cannot read the word on ticket bending machine, we cannot get it.

kashiwaudon12

It is no longer like used to be, when we could order face to face.

Two Korean girls came to the stand but couldn’t order in front of the machine and gone somewhere after taking photo of the stand.

kashiwaudon13

“You must try this. This is really good.” If they were our guests, I said so definitely.

New thing, automatic machine is not always good.

I requested the ladies in restaurant to add English name on the vending machine, because I have recommended the UDON stand to our guests. Now
I am expecting the local food company will improve it.

As the UDON stand stands on the platform where trains to port town (Mojiko) arrive and leave.

Thank you and you have a nice day, being in their shoes

Let’s have hometown taste but not mom’s one!

Let’s have hometown taste but not mom’s one!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The third day of new year will be finished soon.

The food we focus today is not OSECHI (Japanese New Year Dishes), not Expensive Food, and not Curry Rice, but Soul Food of this town.

We have mentioned before but we report today about the shop renewal.

kashiwaudon01

kashiwaudon02

The UDON Stand, on the platform #7 & #8 in Kokura station, for the train to Moji, has been closed in this autumn for its renovation.

Actually the stand re-opened several weeks ago, but we report now to let my friend and people who has same home town know it.

TV news says that U-turn rush to Tokyo and other big cities will record its peak today. How about tasting authentic soft noodle of home town’s speciality “KASHIWA UDON” before riding SHINKANSEN or shuttle bus to airport?

kashiwaudon03

Here are two notes for you before stand at counter and surprised.

kashiwaudon05
1. Ticket system were adopted to order UDON.

kashiwaudon04
2. Price got increased again, unfortunately.
*However, bowls and its taste are still the same as used to be.

Please enjoy KASHIWA UDON, being noticed above two.

Thank you and you have energetic working days in your current place after relaxing in this new year holidays.

Ah! Loss of our Soul?! The damage can be critical!

Ah! Loss of our Soul?! The damage can be critical!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Sad News for my old friends who love this home town.

When I visited Moji station, it has gone from platform #1&2.

What is it?

There was a “UDON Stand” there, but no longer there.

kashiwau01

Their KASHIWA ( = chicken) UDON is a kind of our SOUL FOOD.

But it is not so critical for myself.
That is because there was no UDON Stand in my high school days
and Moji is no longer my home station, but Komorie is.

HOWEVER, I was afraid and went there.

Yes, Platform #7&8 of Kokura station!

That platform is for the train to Mojiko and
UDON Stand there was very convenient for us to get reasonable light meal.
So we often used the stand after we played in Kokura.
It is the real SOUL FOOD for us, the residents of Moji ward.

Ah, the stand was covered by the board!

kashiwau02

But there was a patch of paper on the board.

kashiwau03

It was telling that the stand is being renovated and re-open in the autumn.
That made me feel easy.

This is pre-alert for my friends who are going to come back to this town in this summer and try to visit that UDON stand, when they feel hungry after getting off train/airplane.
(If you really want to eat that KASHIWA UDON in Kokura station, you can use another branch stand locates on platform #1&2.)

But unfortunately, the UDON Stand in Moji station doesn’t have a patch of paper like Kokura and it is really closed.

This is a affection of population decline in Moji ward, isn’t this?

Thank you and you have a nice day, thinking a great deal of your SOUL FOOD.
