We think there are many people who already know about it, but in this month, November 14th will be the 50th anniversary of our town’s biggest landmark.

The bridge opened when I was an elementary school student, and I was surprised at how big it was at that time.

Let’s celebrate the 50th birthday together!

Although it is not flashy, the bridge is very beautiful whether we look at it from the Honshu side or the Kyushu side.

みんなでお祝い ５０歳！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。

すでにご存知の方も少なくないと思いますが、今月 11月14日は我が町一番のランドマークの５０歳の誕生日。

宿主が小学生だった時に開通した、当時はその巨大さに驚いた橋です。

みんなで５０周年をお祝いしましょう。

派手さはないものの、本州側から見ても、九州側から見ても、綺麗な橋です。

５０日も経つと、、、/ It has been 50days since the Grand Opening!

It has been 50days since the Grand Opening!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It has been almost 50 days since Grand Opening of Renovated Mojiko station, which is the icon and landmark of our town.

There are no longer exaggerated events held in front of the station and the area around the station seems to recover its composure.

The view in front of the station with rickshaws negotiating with western tourists and fountain gets comfortable for me. Don’t you think so?

Anyway, tomorrow is the day of starting Japanese Golden Week Holidays. However most of the events, planning to be held in Mojiko, will be some kind of relaxed one. How about walking around such a chic port town on your holidays?

TOUKA has almost full of guests during Golden Week. But most of our guests are mainly interested in visiting wisteria garden. So we will advice/recommend them to visit Mojiko, which locates on the opposite direction.

５０日も経つと、、、

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先月リニューアルした、わが町を代表するアイコンでありかつランドマークでもある門司港駅。そのグランドオープンからまもなく５０日が経とうとしています。

堅苦しいイベント事もなくなり、ようやく落ち着いた感が出てきました。

駅前で客待ちする人力車に交渉する欧米人観光客、そして噴水、なんか絵としてしっくりしてきたように思うのは自分だけでしょうか？

明日から始まるゴールデンウィーク。予定されているイベントも意外と渋め。そんな落ち着いた港町観光なんていかがでしょうか？

連休中は当宿もほぼ満室。ご利用になるゲストの皆さんはどちらかというと藤の花見にいらっしゃる方が多いようです。なので、反対方向の門司港、さり気なくご紹介・オススメしていきたいと思います。

This town’s information source for the inbound, which used to locate out of tourists’ flow line, was moved to the new location and started its business.

I think that new location is still out of flow line. So this place may still be temporary location.

Display board about this tourist information posted outside of the station doesn’t show the exact location and we cannot find out where it is.

(This board need to be improved. Every language should explain exact location of tourist information.)

This town may have another important task to improve itself.
“Putting themselves in tourist’s shoes.”
With seeing every policy of local government, which is self‐satisfaction, self‐praise and self-applauding, this may be the local color of this area and hard to be improved.

観光客の動線から見てイマイチだった、インバウンド向け情報発信源がいつの間にか新しい場所に移って、営業を開始しています。

自分の目には、この移転先も観光の動線から外れているようにしか見えませんが、、、もしかしたら、こちらもまだ仮の住まいなのかもしれません。

駅の外に掲示された表示板を見ても、どこにあるのかよく分かりません。

（記載言語ごとに、表記内容がわかりやすいかどうか見直す必要がありますね。）

どうもこの町の重要課題には、さらにもうひとつあるようです。
「相手の立場になって考える」
基本的に自治体の施策も、自己満足・自画自讃・手前味噌なものが多い土地柄ゆえに、仕方がないのかもしれませんね。
