Let us talk about another story of Asia, a global topic.

We had a family guest about two weeks ago. They were intelligent parents and a smart boy.

When we saw their passport at the time of their check-in, we noticed the difference between the father’s passport and his son’s passport. They have completely different design.

One has the design with the origin from the British rule, the other design is the Chinese style after conversion. The father showed us two passports with complex expressions, because he may not want to accept both the design and the meaning of change to the new passport.

Now the boy’s home city under “One Country, Two Systems” operation superficially is in the midst of turbulence.

世界中に朝が、香港にも朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

アジアと世界情勢の話をしたついでに、、、

二週間ほど前に、あるアジアのご家族に当宿をご利用いただきました。知的なご両親に賢そうな男の子です。

チェックインの際にご家族全員のパスポートを見せてもらうと、、、
お父さんのパスポートと、男の子のパスポートが全く違うものなのです。

ひとつはイギリス統治時代からの流れを組むデサイン。もうひとつは返還後の大国仕様のデザイン。後者の見た目も、その意味することも、どちらも受け入れがたいためかお父さんは複雑な表情をうかべて、二種類のパスポートを見せてくれました。

表面的には一国二制度として扱われている男の子の故郷は、今おおきく揺れ動いています。

Every time I visit supermarket in this town, more and more space are being displaying grilled EEL! Did you eat it yet?

After I uploaded an article about eel fishing boats, I started wondering if the story “Most of baby eels caught in Taiwan have been exported to Japan” is true or not. So I investigated it.

Surprisingly, the situation is more critical. Risky keyword is “Eel Laundering”!

There’s a smell of something smoldering in global distribution of baby eels. It is true that most of baby eels caught in Taiwan were transported to Japan finally, but Taiwan doesn’t export them to Japan directly. Taiwan exports them to Hong Kong and Japan imported theｍ from Hong Kong. to make matters worse, it is smuggling from Taiwan to Hong Kong. Because government of In 2007, Taiwan put a ban on exporting eels no matter adult eel or baby eel.

コンプライアンスの問題！

おはようございます。

スーパーではウナギの売り場面積が日に日に拡大しています。もしかして、もうウナギ食べましたか？

二個前の掲載で台湾でのウナギの乱獲のことを話題にしましたが、聞いた話「捕れたシラスウナギはほぼ全数が日本に輸出されている」という話が、もしかして現状と違っていたら読んだ人に申し訳ないなと調べてみました。

なんと、事はさらに深刻です。危険なキーワードは「ウナギロンダリング」！

なんと、シラスウナギの流通は少なからず「きな臭い」ようです。台湾からのシラスウナギのほとんどが最終的に日本に来ているのは間違いないのですが、台湾の輸出先、日本の輸入先はどうも「香港」のようです。それも香港に「密輸」されたものが最終的に日本の養殖業者に届いているようです。あんなに大きな船団で漁をしているのに、台湾は2007年にウナギを成魚・稚魚かかわらず輸出禁止にしていたのです。

今がチャンス！/ This is a big chance for Japan!

This is a big chance for Japan!

Good morning to the World, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Kanmon!

This week, we had guests from my favorite country, Taiwan.

One of the topics we talked here was “Demonstration in Hong Kong”.

Biggest worry is that same thing may happen in Taiwan and they are already seeing one phenomenon that Hong Kong people have been moving into Taiwan. We enjoyed talking about such topics.

According to him, the biggest reason why Hong Kong people choose Taiwan for the place to move is that both Hong Kong and Taiwan has similar cultural and geographical element and Taiwan is the place for Hong Kong people easy to move into.

This may be the good opportunity for Japan too.

With seeing our guest, we know that there are not a few Hong Kong people who really like Japan. So do Taiwan people. Taiwan people are also worry about the possibility the same thing may occur in their place. In such situation, it is a great opportunity for Japan and Kitakyushu to get highly eduacated and good quality work forces, if we can be qualified as the good place to move.

It is of course that may happen if we welcome them as a good neighbor friends.

今がチャンス！

世界中に朝が、香港や台湾にも、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

今週のゲストは大好きな台湾からいらっしゃったゲストさん。

話題は、、、日本のニュースでも話題になっている、香港のデモのこと。

明日は我が身かも、という台湾独自の事情と、、、今、実際に台湾へと移り住む香港人が少なくなくて社会問題なのだそうです。

そんな話題で盛り上がりました。香港と台湾とは文化や地理的な要素が似ていて、香港の人には移住しやすいそうなのです。

もしかしたら、これは日本にとってもチャンスかもしれません。

ゲストを見ている限り、日本が大好きという香港人は少なくないし、それは台湾人もしかり。今香港で起きていることが、台湾でもそのうちに起きるのではという不安も少なくないようです。そんな時に労働人口不足の日本が、いや、もし北九州がその受け皿（移住先）になれるとしたら、教育水準が高く、良質な労働力をゲットできる可能性は低くないと思います。

もちろん良き隣人として歓迎するということですが、、、
