憂う / Worrying

Worrying

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In this month, July, I have been worrying about two “countries”. One is the U.S. which is attacked by COVID-19 infection even during their anniversary of independence.

The other is “Hong Kong” which is attached by communism.

It has been one of my most favorite “countries” for recent 20 years since I first visited there.

Specially I love to board on the star ferry boat painted dark green, go back and force on Victoria Harbor and enjoy slow time watching the town changing from twilight to night view. Basically I don’t like busy town, but that place is the exception.

It is similar but completely different from Shanghai.

Can we still enjoy slow and relaxing moment there?

In addition, we have had wonderful guests from the precious “country”.

Lately, I keep worrying about future of the “country” and wondering how the guests are doing there.

憂う

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

７月に入って、独立記念日を迎えながら、COVID-19の驚異にさらされるアメリカ以外に、もうひとつ気になる「国」があります。

共産主義の驚異にさらされる「香港」です。

ここ２０年、私の好きな「国」のひとつです。

なかでも一番好きな香港は、深緑のスターフェリーにのってのんびりヴィクトリア・ハーバーを行き来しながら、夜景に変わりゆく香港の町を眺める瞬間です。あまり都会は好きではありませんが、あの雰囲気は嫌いではありません。

上海とは似て非なるものです。

あの水辺では、今も未だ「のんびり」できるのでしょうか？

当宿にとっては、素敵なゲストさんがたくさんいらっしゃることでもありがたい「国」です。

東北に教わった生き方？/ The way to enjoy living, I learned from TOHOKU!

The way to enjoy living, I learned from TOHOKU!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Since last week, we have been doing pretty busy.

Between working and surfing, I have greeting/communicating with old friends, acquaintances and our guests who have stayed here.

Among those people, people living Tohoku area, Japan, called me and that made me very very happy. One of them is old lady who survived from Tsunami attack. (She had once drown in dirty Tsunami water.) She taught me that she turned 90 this year after various hard time struggling to live in the area.

I did learn very important/useful method from their way of living/surviving.

“To turn misfortune into fortune”

In addition, I also got many massages from the people who is fighting against control by the country of communism, young people in neighbor country whose government got conflict with our government, and so on. Their dear messages have brought happy and warm feeling to me and I’ve been spending Christmas/late December days at my favorite spot with smile.

東北に教わった生き方？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先週から何故か結構バタバタしています。

仕事と波乗りの合間に旧友、知り合い、これまで利用いただいたゲストさんなど多くの人とやり取りしています。

なかでも特に嬉しかったのは、東北の震災被災地からいただいた何本かの電話。みなさん元気にされているそうで、そのうちのお一人は津波に飲み込まれながら救出されたMばあちゃん。いろいろと大変されながらも、なんと今年90歳になったそうです。

そんな風に東北で出会った人に教わった生き方は、今を生きる糧になっています。

“災い転じて福となす”

共産主義からの支配に対抗しようとしている地域の人たちや、この国と政府間で衝突している隣国の若者たちからも、懐かしくてうれしいメッセージが続々と届き、笑顔の師走・クリスマスをお気に入りの場所で過ごしています。

再会・思い出 / Reunion – Memory

Reunion – Memory

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I was watching TV casually. The program was to visit abroad to find unique recipe which has never been to Japan yet. The country the buyer visited was Bulgaria.

In that program, Bulgarian local products were introduced by her. One of them was hand-mail pottery made in a small town, “Troyan Pottery”. They have unique pattern as their character.

I looked at our dining table and find similar plate like that in the TV program.

And I remember that the plate was the gift from our guest, who is a pro cameraman traveling around the world and that he told that he bought it in Bulgaria.

Unexpectedly I remembered him who stay here more than one year ago. He was the guest from the most exciting place in Asia now. And I wonder if he is doing well under the situation, his country is in the middle of chaos.

OK, let’s send a message to him by e-mail.

再会・思い出

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

何気なくテレビを見ていました。まだ日本にない料理のレシピを海外に買い付けに行くという趣向の番組でした。そのバイヤーが訪れた国はブルガリア。

番組の途中で、ブルガリアの名産品の紹介がありました。そこで紹介されたのは、ある町で手作りで作られている焼き物「トロヤン焼き」。なんとも個性的な模様が特徴だそうです。

ふと、ダイニングに飾っている小皿を見ると、今テレビに映っていた器にそっくり。

そういえばこの皿は世界を飛び回っているカメラマンが、当宿に滞在した時にお土産としてくれたもの。たしかブルガリアで買ったものだと言っていたことを思い出しました。

ふとしたことで一年以上も前に利用していただいたゲストのことを思い出しました。彼は今アジアで一番ホットな国からのゲスト。国が揺れている中でどうしているか気になり始めました。

そうだ、メールしてみよう！
