World Rugby – Light and Shadow in Japan

As of yesterday, Nov.2, Rugby World Cup 2020 (RWC2019) Japan was closed with honorable Team South Africa as a new champion.
Did you enjoy watching games?
In our town, Kitakyushu, people are very excited supporting Team Wales during RWC2019, because the team camped in Kitakyushu just before RWC2019. So public viewing was held in big exhibition hall in this town for bronze final game (Wales v.s. New Zealand). Many funs gathered there and enjoyed the game, including the mayer of Kitakyushu with beer in his hand.
During RWC2019, in Kitakyushu, game schedule of team Wales was announced in TV on every Friday and game result was reported in local news on every Sunday/Monday. That made people in this city excited about RWC2019 very much, I felt.
By the way, do you know very unfortunate rugby news behind RWC2019?
Since 2017, the city of Kitakyushu has hosted “World Rugby Woman’s Sevens Series” for three years/times.
However no longer it will be held 2020. As I have been at the stadium every year, I am so disappointed.
“RUGBY 7S WORLD SERIES EXPANDED”
Kitakyushu should support this event more than Wales. If more people were excited very much about 7s Rugby like supporting Wales during RWC2019, we might have one or two qualifying pool games of RWC2019, as well as 7s World Series 2020.
This is just my humble opinion, but I think there is still possibility for Kitakyushu to get 7s World Series in 2020 in April. So Kitakyushu should stay focused on the situation very much.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
昨日の土曜をもってラクビーワールドカップ日本大会も終わってしまいましたね。
みなさんも楽しまれたでしょうか？
わが街 北九州 では健闘の結果、今大会で４位に輝いたウェールズのキャンプ地だった縁もあり三位決定戦は大きな会場でのパブリックビューイングも開催され、大勢のファンで盛り上がっていました。（市長もビールを片手に観戦！）
期間中、金曜日になるとウェールズ戦の予定がテレビで流れ、試合後の日曜月曜には対戦結果が報道される力の入れよう、わが街 北九州 のラクビー熱も大いに盛り上がったように感じました。
ところでワールドカップの影で、とても残念な話があるのをご存知ですか？
2017、2018、そして今年2019と、3年連続でこの街 北九州で開催されていた女子の７人制ラグビーの世界大会が、来年2020には開催されないことが決まっています。
毎年観戦していた自分としては、残念で仕方がありません。
（ココ地元の欠点として、（都合の）良くないニュースは話題にしない風潮があるので、将来のためにも、ここはしっかり情報共有したいと思います。）
北九州市はむしろこちらを推すべきだったと思います。セブンズでもっと盛り上がっていたらワールドカップの予選ゲームぐらい誘致できたかもしれませんね。
ただ、私個人が考えるに新しい女子セブンズのツアーには大きなリスクがあって、北九州も気を抜きさえしなければ、4月の大会が転がり込んでくる気がしています。（ご存知かどうか、今年のAPECとCOP21の例などもあるので、、、）
