Don’t you have any experience such as
“What are they eating? It looks very tasty!”
“But I cannot read their menu board. Finally I cannot get it.”
It happens here too.
If we cannot read the word on ticket bending machine, we cannot get it.
It is no longer like used to be, when we could order face to face.
Two Korean girls came to the stand but couldn’t order in front of the machine and gone somewhere after taking photo of the stand.
“You must try this. This is really good.” If they were our guests, I said so definitely.
New thing, automatic machine is not always good.
I requested the ladies in restaurant to add English name on the vending machine, because I have recommended the UDON stand to our guests. Now
I am expecting the local food company will improve it.
As the UDON stand stands on the platform where trains to port town (Mojiko) arrive and leave.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
海外旅行で街を散歩すると、こんな状況に遭遇しませんか？
「現地の人が食べてたアレなんだろ？」
メニューを見ても、丸と棒、もしくはミミズのような文字で読めない。
結局わからずじまいで「食べたかったなぁ！」と後悔だけ残る。
それがココでも起きているようです。
おばちゃんに直接注文していた頃と違い、券売機の文字が読めないと注文できない。
昨日も韓国人らしい女性二人組が券売機を見た後、お店の写真だけ撮ってどこかに行ってしまいました。
これマジで旨いんだから、食べていってよ。そんな気分です。
新しい物が便利、自動化が便利、と勘違いして必要な対応をしないと一番大切なものを失うようです。
ゲストに勧めることから、券売機のボタンをせめて英語表記してね、とお願いしてみましたが、はてさて対応してくれるかどうか、地元企業の感度に期待です。
港町の観光へ行くのに皆が使うこのホーム。うまく対応すれば、さらに評価があがるかも。
