We found a new Japan-made English word introduced in a TV program.
It is called “STAYCATION”.
It seems that Staycation was mixed word of Stay and Vacation. It is introduced as the new style of traveling focusing accommodation stay mainly.

Immediately, we think of some new ideas of our Staycation plan for our guests in this guesthouse.
However, by taking a step back and watching ourselves rationally, I noticed that our hosting/living style is “long term Staycation” for six years.
I have always explored around this area and shared timely, brand-new and best local information with our guests, just like I am a traveler who is staying here together at same time.
Our hosting/living style is exactly the same like traveler in the middle of staycation. Of course, we share this strait view from here and living in this atmosphere.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
テレビを見ていたら、新しい和製英語が紹介されていました。
その名も「ステイケーション」！
Stay と Vacation の合成語らしくて、なんでも宿泊施設での滞在をメインに楽しむ新しい旅行のスタイルとか、、、

早速、うちのゲストさんに紹介するステイケーションのプランを考えなきゃと思いを巡らせてみたところ、、、
実は一歩引いて考えると、自分自身が６年間ステイケーションしているようなもんだ、ということに気付きました。
ゲストさんのないタイミングでご当地を探索し、まるで自らが同時期に滞在している旅人であるかのように、採れたての優良地元情報を他のゲストさんたちに共有する。
当宿って、まさにそんなスタイルだよなぁと再認識しました。もちろんここから見える景色や、この環境での暮らしを共有することも！
それでは、採れたての活き活き情報を活用してさらに素敵な一日を！
