It’s about myself, isn’t it?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

In this week, there have been various things happened in this country, Japan.

We had severe natural disaster, and final tournament of Rugby World Cup is on going. But I think that the biggest event whole Japanese people got involved was “the Ceremony of Accession for new emperor”.

All Japanese people got impressed by his words, I believe.

Since that time, I have kept thinking about his words. And I find out that it is about us, Japanese people, as well as about the emperor himself. How we should act in this era, REIWA.

It is because he is “the symbol of Japanese people”.

So I think that his words should be understood by all Japanese people like this.

“As a Japanese, I pledge hereby that I shall act according to the Constitution, while always wishing for the happiness of the people (near me) and the peace of the world, turning my thoughts to the people (near me) and standing by them.

I sincerely hope that our country, through our wisdom and unceasing efforts, achieves further development and contributes to the friendship and peace of the international community and the welfare and prosperity of humankind.”

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

この一週間、日本では色々なことがありました。

大きな自然災害もあったし、ラグビー・ワールドカップ優勝も決勝トーナメントが開催されています。なかでも日本人がみんな関わった一大イベントが、新天皇陛下の即位「即位礼正殿の儀」ではないでしょうか？

日本国民全員が、新天皇陛下のありがたいお言葉に感銘を受けたことと思います。

陛下のお言葉を聞いてからずっと考えました。そして気付きます。天皇陛下のお言葉であると同時に「令和日本人のあるべき姿」ではないかということに。

なぜなら、天皇陛下は日本国民を「象徴」する存在だから、、、

「国民（隣人）の幸せと世界の平和を常に願い，国民（隣人）に寄り添いながら，憲法にのっとり，日本人としてのつとめを果たすことを誓います。
我々の叡智とたゆみない努力によって，我が国が一層の発展を遂げ，国際社会の友好と平和，人類の福祉と繁栄に寄与すべく努めます。」

つまり、自分たち日本人は令和という時代をこう生きるんだと。

新しいのがお好き？/ Some Like It New?

Some Like It New?

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

There are various type of guests use this guesthouse.

We are not the guesthouse which only let guests into our guest rooms after check-in and clean guest rooms after their check-out simply by the manual like immigration officers. As a result, we keep having new and exciting findings all the time.

I have written some articles about our guests who came from foreign countries, and we can have more unique findings, if we try to have longer and wider outlooks.

For example, passports!
There are two passports on attached photos and both of them have comparably new designed covers.

Interesting finding was that there is big difference between two passport holders. It is whether people who hold them have a good feeling about new passport (design) or not.

Now I want to propose new design to the Japanese passport in this timing of new era “Reiwa”. New and cool design (government), majority of its citizens like/are proud of.

新しいのがお好き？

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ゲストハウスという場所はいろいろな人が行き来します。

当宿は、ただ受付でチェックイン後にお部屋に通し、チェックアウトした後に掃除をして一連の業務がお終いという具合に、まるで入国審査官のように、単純・マニュアルチックにゲストに接する宿ではないので、新鮮かつ驚きの発見に日々遭遇します。

これまでも海外からいらっしゃるゲストについて記事にしました。お一人おひとりをみても個性的でとてもユニークですが、視点を点ではなく線や面で捉えるとまた非常にユニークな気付きがあります。

たとえばパスポート、、、
最近気づいたのですが、画像に挙げた二つのパスポートはどちらも比較的最近、表紙のデザインが変わっています。

興味深いのは、そのパスポートが発行される国民がその新しいデザインを好むか好まないかで、この二つについていえば、それぞれで大きく異なります。

新しい年号「令和」となった日本も、そろそろ粋な表紙デザインに変更してはどうかとつくづく思う今日このごろです。もちろんそれを持つ国民が大好きで誇りを持てるデザイン（政府）に。

新しいお言葉：世界の平和 / New word: The Peace of the World

New word: The Peace of the World

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

On Tuesday, Oct. 22 2019, we had a special holiday, due to the Ceremony of Accession for new emperor. All Japanese celebrated it all over Japan. (Though I personally didn’t know that it is national holiday. smile)

In the formal proclamation, new emperor read in the ceremony, there was one word which was not in former emperor’s proclamation and resonated to my heart.

It was “The Peace of the World”.

I felt that the word came out because new emperor has a experience living in foreign country and traveling many other countries.

Last weekend, we had a guest staying here who have experiences of living in several foreign countries. And we had exciting time to talk that there is a big difference in way of thinking between Japanese who has experience of living in overseas and Japanese who do not. Way of thinking means such as “view of the world” and “sense of values”.

We both has similar feeling that there is many Japanese people who has strong worry about future. And we agreed that most of them believes the only way to escape from the worry is “money”.

Now is the timing in Japan to have many foreign tourists visiting Japan for Rugby World Cup and Olympic games next year. If we can utilize this timing to think not only how to get money from them, but also how to share fun and precious time with them, “The Peace of the World” new emperor mentioned will get much closer to Japanese citizen. I really hope so.

I believe that REIWA should not be the era in which everyone hope happiness in stable government and developing economy, but it should be the era in which every individuals realize that they can be much happier by developing spiritual happiness and expanding human relations to other people (include people in other countries), not by money. (It is because I know “the money” was originally developed from such idea to share happiness with other people.)

新しいお言葉：世界の平和

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

10月22日の火曜日、日本では「即位礼正殿の儀」のための祝日。多くの日本人が新天皇の即位をお祝いしました。（自分は直前まで祝日とは知りませんでしたが。笑）

新しい天皇が発せられたお言葉の中で、一番自分の心に響いたのは「世界の平和」。前天皇の宣言書にはなかった一言です。海外生活経験のある天皇陛下の新しい感覚だと感動しました。

実はこの週末、当宿を利用していただいたゲストに海外での生活の長かった方がいらっしゃって、日本ではそうした経験のある人とない人との間で考え方の違いが大きいという話題で盛り上がりました。ここでいう考え方とは世界観や価値観のことを指します。

日本では将来に不安持って生きている人が多いと感じるという感覚に共感し、その不安から逃れる唯一の方法が「お金」だと信じる傾向が強いことに共鳴しました。

折しも、外国人旅行者の急増に、ワールドカップ、さらにはオリンピックと、全く違う価値観を持つ人たちと触れ合う機会が必然的に増えるタイミングです。この機会をいかに「儲け」に結びつけようかと考えるだけでなく、そうした人たちとどう楽しく共存していくかを考える機会に出来れば、陛下の言う「世界の平和」が我々国民にとって、より身近になるに違いないと願ってやみません。

おそらく令和という時代は、政治の安定や、経済の成長により幸せを求める時代から、個人個人が心の豊かさや海外を含む人とのつながりを広げることで、お金だけに頼ることなく、幸せになれることを悟る時代に変わらなくてはならない時だと思います。（なぜなら、本来そうした気持ちが形になったものが「お金」だからです。）
