Only one group of guests per night, private use of whole annex of an old traditional Japanese house

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

After getting experience of hosting people for more than 4 years, it seems that I got an ability to know whether the accommodation has good quality or not before I actually visit there, no matter how expensive the fee is or how good the profile photos on guidebook or homepage are.

My own criteria of hosting quality is same as the criteria of food quality of restaurant. It’s so natural that expensive food is good that I have no interest in such restaurant. I do want to stay in the place of low price but too good

As the result, I got a conclusion to stay in my car overnight and I like it. Because I got expected quality of stay every time with lowest price. And I can have the precious opportunity to stay in the superb view. It can be never experienced even in quality hotels.

However, I had stayed in one accommodation after long time.

The host takes only one group of guests per night. Their guest room is a whole annex of an old traditional Japanese house.

Their hospitality was wonderful and I enjoyed relax stay there. On the last day, I had talked a lot with the host about hosting in such hard time with COVID-19 pandemic and it was so fun that we almost forgot the time of check-out.

I did recognize that the good hosts know what is more fun to host people than getting money from them.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

４年近く宿屋を運営していていると、他の宿泊施設についても、宿泊料金の高い低いや、施設画像の綺麗か否かとは別に、泊まる前から施設・サービス説明の中にもない「おもてなしのクオリティ」が分かってきます。

自分にとって、宿の良し悪しは食べ物屋の良し悪しと同じで、「高くて旨い」は当たり前で興味がなく、「安くてもすごく美味しい」ところにこそ泊まりたいというのが信念です。

というわけで、行き着いたのが車中泊。ここ数年気に入っています。望み通りの宿泊クオリティが得られるだけではなく、絶景のど真ん中に好きなだけ滞在できるのは、ちょっとした宿に泊まっても得ることのない大きなメリットです。

ホストのおもてなしも素晴らしくて、ゆったり過ごした上に、宿の眼前に拡がる畑の中で、チェックアウト時間を過ぎてしまうほど熱くコロナ禍の情報交換してしまいました。

そんな会話を通して、得てして良いホストは他人（ヒト）を泊めることに金銭以上のメリットがあることが分かっているんだなぁと再認識しました。

I saw very helpful information and easy explanation about infection presentation measures and their priority about in the Wednesday morning TV news.

After watching the program, I could understand that most important thing is the measure against droplet infection. At the same time, I recognized that our new accommodation plan since this spring is the right way, which is taking one group’s reservation a day.

Because the most basic measure is to avoid meeting with unspecified number of people, we should avoid dormitory style share room and sharing space like dining or restaurant with other people.

Our one group a day operation is not for each room but for whole this guesthouse. In addition, we don’t take any other guests one day before and after the guest stay. So we can utilize the 2 days for ventilation and disinfection.

Honestly speaking we don’t believe that our government’s political measures will work properly/effectively against 3rd wave of COVID-19 infection. So we provide the lowest infection risk accommodation among all area in Kitakyushu and Kanmon and we keep looking for more effective/better way.

Lately, there are not a few people who don’t watch TV news and who rely on the information through internet. This TV news are also broadcasted in internet. So we want you to refer the information of above TV news and utilize it for structuring your own new protocol with COVID-19 virus.

感染対策・耳寄り情報 〜 新型コロナウイルス

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

水曜日の朝のニュースでこれまでにわかった感染対策のわかりやすい解説とその優先順位が紹介されていました。

「ＮＨＫニュース　おはよう日本」2020/12/3

番組を見てわかったのですが、飛沫感染予防こそが最重要の感染対策で、この春に運用開始した当宿の「一日一組様限定宿泊プラン」は間違っていなかったと再認識しました。

不特定多数の会合を避けることが感染対策の大前提なので、相部屋のドミトリーで他人と一晩密室で過ごすなどもってのほか、カフェ・ダイニングで他人と空間の共有するのもできる限りさけるべきなのです。

当宿では各部屋での限定ではなく、宿全体として「一日一組限定」です。さらに、ゲストが宿泊される前後１日は予約を取らずに換気・消毒に充てています。

正直、今とられている政府の政策では「第３波」が食い止められるかも怪しい状況なので、「灯火」は北九州・関門に滞在される方に少しでも感染リスクの少ない宿泊サービスを提供したいと考え、さらに効果的な対策を採算度外視で模索しています。

女子会サポート・キャンペーン！/ Girls’ Night Supporting Campaign!

Girls’ Night Supporting Campaign!

Japanese rainy season, TSUYU, is almost over but not yet.

This weekend, we don’t have not so much rain, but we kept having overcast sky whole weekend.

However we had a group of guests who are too active to blow away such heavy atmosphere.

They are local young girls, yes they enjoyed Girls’ Night here.

Since the beginning of this month, “Accommodation monitor campaign in Kitakyushu” have been on going, conducted by Tourism Division of the city. It is very reasonable monitor plan, such as 1000JPY, 2000JPY, 3000JPY for one night stay, price depends on the type, size, facility of each accommodation facility. Of course, TOUKA is in 1000JPY group. TOUKA has also introduced a valuable stay plan which make our guests happy and blow recent heavy mood simultaneously to the campaign. Of course taking care about infection presentation.

Which is “Only One Group of Guests a Day Campaign”!
It is to utilize small size of this guesthouse. Because our guest have no risk of close contact with other guests (group) to minimize the risk of infection. We believe that our guests can feel safe during the stay.

With both city’s and our campaign, we can expect guests who don’t use TOUKA in normal situation. And that make us so exciting. The very first one is “Girls’ Night” of local young people. They could relaxed staying here because no other guests and extra space to use under our “Only One Group of Guests a Day Campaign”. Young girls’ laughing could be heard till very late Saturday night.

There is an important caution about this “Girls’ Night Supporting Campaign”, no “Accommodation monitor campaign in Kitakyushu”. It is that each accommodation has quantitive limit of guest to accept. It is “first come, first served” rule. To be more precise, “first reserve, first served” rule. And campaign period is till end of September this year.

How about utilizing these campaign and trying a little guesthouse with hideaway atmosphere? It is good for people who want to visit hometown but no longer original family living here, as well as “Girls’ Night”.

女子会サポート・キャンペーン！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

梅雨が明けそうでなかなか明けない７月上旬です。

この週末、雨はほとんど降りませんでしたが、終始空は暗い雲でどんより。
ところが、そんな重い雰囲気を吹き飛ばすような、元気なゲストに週末ご利用いただきました。

地元の若い女子たち、、、つまり女子会です。

実は今月に入って、地元自治体の声掛けで「宿泊モニター・キャンペーン」なる催しが進行中です。 なんと市内宿泊施設が規模・設備により一泊1,000円・2,000円・3,000円プラス税のいずれかで利用できるという破格の宿泊キャンペーンです。当宿はもちろん一泊1,000円のグループです。今年に入って感染症のおかげでずっと重っ苦しいムードでしたが、このキャンペーンに乗じて当宿でもなにかゲストに喜んでもらえるおもてなしをスタートしました。
もちろん感染には十二分に気をつけて、、、

それが、一日一組限定キャンペーン！
当宿の規模のちいささを活かして、一晩予約された一組のゲストだけにご利用いただくことで、不特定多数との濃厚接触の機会をなくし、安心して滞在いただきたいと考えています。

その値段とおもてなしで、今回これまで利用がなかった客層の利用が始まり、ワクワクしています。その第一弾が地元の若い女子たちの女子会利用。一組限定なので、ゲストルームを広々利用いただき、夜遅くまで笑い声が館内響いていました。

この「女子会サポート・キャンペーン」、もとい「宿泊モニター・キャンペーン」、自治体から与えられた宿泊枠に限りがあり早いもの勝ちです。利用の早いものではなく、予約の早いもの勝ちです。対象利用期間は9月末まで。年齢に関わらず、女子会だけでなく仲良し同窓会など大歓迎です。

この機会に、普段利用することのない地元・北九州の隠れ家的ゲストハウスいかがでしょうか？実家のない方の夏休みのご帰省にもおすすめです。
