We shouldn’t miss this spot!”
Good morning to the World and Kanmon!
If you drive to Tsunoshima by rent-a-car on autumn sunny day, this is the spot you shouldn’t miss.
I have a memory to see the big poster of this and Tsunoshima on the wall of JR station in Tokyo. This may be the most recommended spot by Yamaguchi pref.
It must be the proof of it that their parking lot was expanded and developed a lot.

However, I was disappointed at:
1. Parking lot was developed but there is no public transportation which bring us to this shrine. This is one of the most difficult spots for foreign guests to visit here. The reasons were not only no public transportation but also heavy traffic jams in weekend/holidays.
2. The area was too much developed and its view was damaged.
The cliff top at the entrance was covered by concrete. So whenever I try to take picture, the concrete always in the picture flame. That reduce the divineness of this spot.
The divine favor is not confirmed yet. As the value of this spot was reputed by the beautiful scenery, they should keep the view and control the number of people. That will increase the satisfaction of each tourists and the number of future tourists as the result.

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。
秋晴れの山陰路、先に紹介した「角島」にレンタカーで行くなら、外せないのがこちら。
角島と併せて、東京のJR、ホームの連絡通路の壁にポスターが大きく貼られていたのを見た記憶があります。山口県イチオシのスポットなのかもしれません。
その証拠に昨年行った時とは異なり、駐車場が拡大・整備されていました。

ただ、残念なのは、、、
1. 駐車場は多少整備したものの、公共交通機関でのアクセスがないこと。
ここは外国人旅行者が訪れにくい観光地の代表です。その理由は交通機関だけでなく、せっかくレンタカーを借りても、週末・連休には車が渋滞して動けなくなるためにガッカリすることが少なくないようです。
2. 敷地内の整備が行き過ぎで、景観を損ね始めていること。
入り口のある崖上をコンクリートで整備した結果、並んだ赤い鳥居の写真を取ろうとするとそのコンクリートが写り込んでしまい、このスポットの神々しさが損なわれてしまいました。
この神社のご利益は未知数です。風景的価値の方が先行するスポットなので、観光客の数や景観そのものをきちんとコントロールした方が、訪れた人の満足感に好影響を与え、結果として観光客を増やすのに残念で仕方ありません。

And we finally arrive at SUPER COOL road.
