Japanese Title (邦題)： 「見えるもの？見えないもの？！」末尾に

About Sengai’s work “SHIGETSUHOTEIGASAN (Moon indexed by Hotei God)”,
This work is pretty popular for people in Moji, because copy of this work painted on the wall of the museum, but
I realize the value of this picture, by seeing real one.
The most interesting point is:
It has name of “moon” on its title,
but moon was not drawn on the picture,
and shown by the description of god and child.
Present day, Japanese people tends to respect what we can see by our eyes. So it is very impressive for me that Sengai didn’t describe what he want to show us on purpose.
I felt that this work informed us of the importance of invisible matter than visible thing or things converted to the money. What is most important?

見えるもの？見えないもの？！
世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。 おはようございます。
今回は、仙厓の「指月布袋画賛」について、
この作品は門司港の出光美術館の壁面にも描かれているので、門司の人には結構身近な存在だったりするのですが、
今回、出光美術館でその実物を見て、その凄さを再確認しました。
なかでもスゴいと感じたのが、
月を題にもつ作品なのにその月は描かれておらず、
人物描写で月の存在を示している点です。
現代においては、どうしても目に見えるものを重宝する傾向がありますが、あえて伝えたいものを見えない状態に置くという逆転の発想は目からウロコでした。
目に見えるもの、数字（お金）で置きかえられるもの基準にものの良し悪しを判断しがちな我々に、本当はなにが大事なのか伝えてくれている気もしました。
