Finally, it showed up!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Last weekend, it get opened partly to the public.
As it was broadcasted on local TV news without notice, I ran there and took pictures.

This is the landmark of our town, MOJIKO Station.

It was originally completed on Dec. 1914, 11 months prior to the completion or Tokyo station. And both of them were registered as important cultural properties of Japan.

Big clock on the roof, which had been saying 0:00 during renovation, has moved already.

It might be the time for us to start something like the station in our hometown.

ついにその姿を現しました！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

先の週末、部分的にですが、とうとうその姿が公開されました。
それも突然、テレビのローカル・ニュースで報道されたので、慌てて見に行きました。

わが町のランドマーク「門司港駅」です。

1914年（大正3年）12月に完成した東京駅よりも11ヶ月前に完成している歴史的建造物。国指定重要文化財です。

改修工事の間、ずっと０時０分を指していた大時計もすでに動き始めています。

さぁ、故郷の駅に負けずに、そろそろ自分たちも動き始める時かもしれませんね。

Before we are aware of it!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

This is a familiar road to the port of our town.

But there is unfamiliar view ahead of me.

Yes, the car in front of me is a rent-a-car driven by foreign tourist.
He/She made strange right turn into this road.

Recently we have more and more guests come to “TOUKA” by driving rent-a-car. It is no longer only in Okinawa and Hokkaido where foreign tourists enjoy driving. Nowadays they drive in such a local port town like this town. And we are sure that this trend will not stop.

When we realized, we may be driving in between rent-a-cars driving by GAIJIN drivers.

知らないうちに！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

我が港町へ向かういつもの道。

いつもとは違う光景が、、、

そう、前を走る車は外国人の運転するレンタカーです。
変な右折をして、この道に入ってきました。

最近、当宿「灯火」を利用するゲストにレンタカーご利用の方が増えてきました。
今や外国人観光客が運転するのは沖縄・北海道にとどまらないようです。こんな田舎町にもレンタカーを運転してくる時代です。そしておそらくこの傾向は止まりません。

気がついたら、ガイジンドライバーにはさまれてた、なんてこともあるかもしれません。

今年は異常！要注意です。/ Caution: it is unusual this year!

Caution: it is unusual this year!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I have been writing about Autumn red leaves in Japan, also in this area.

But honestly speaking, condition of Autumn leaves may be unusual this year 2018.

It is because of big typhoons. We got so many typhoon strikes this summer in Japan, such as typhoon “Trami” and others. They create salt damages all over Japan. Sea salt was blowed by strong wind and splayed on the leaves. Those leaves fall off earlier than normal Autumn.

Kanmon area is not an exception to this situation. Leaves are falling off in various spots including my favorite spot.

We want to advice all foreign tourists, who planning to visit Japan to enjoy Autumn view with red maple leaves, to check the condition in advance.

今年は異常！要注意です。

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

日本の紅葉、関門エリアの紅葉について情報をあげてきましたが、、、

状況を正直にお伝えすると、今年の日本の紅葉・黄葉は少し異常かもしれません。

というのも、今年の日本の夏は、台風の当たり年で、台風24号などいくつもの台風が日本全国に塩害を引き起こしたからです。風にまき上げられた海水の塩分にあたった木の葉は変色を起こし、紅葉の季節を待たずにして散ってしまったところが少なくないようです。

関門エリアもその例にもれず、お気に入りの場所を含め、葉が散ってしまったスポットも少なくないようです。

紅葉目当てで、日本を観光しようと計画されている皆さんには、是非紅葉の状況を事前確認された上で、こんな状況でもキレイな日本の秋を満喫してもらいたいものです。
