Crispy, Soft and Yammy!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

There are not so many guests who wake up early morning.
But I want our guests to do so and go out for a walk.

If walk to the west, there is sea nearby.
If walk to the east, there is mountain nearby.

And this is the place to visit on the way back.

It is a little bakery who has run business for about 50 years.
located 3min walking distance from TOUKA.

The specialities of this bakery is “KING PAN(bread)”

In my childhood, “KING PAN” is one of normal bread type,
but it seems to be a speciality of this area.
The walking dictionary of town said so too.

Someone may say that it’s just different name of Melon pan.
But you will see the difference when you make the first bite.

Outside is crispy like cookie, inside is soft like cotton flower.

In my childhood, there were two types of children.
One who eat from outside, and one who eat from inside.
But no matter how you eat, it is yummy, because of “KING” pan.

There used to be many bakery who baked KING PAN but there is a few now.

It is not up-to-date style fashionable bakery but there is taste of Showa era.

This bakery has survived under strong competition with 2 major convenience stores in this area.
(There is Seven-eleven and Lawson within 50m.) And it is the proof of the taste.

The owner said “we open the shop before 7:00 in winter and 6:00 in summer.”
“People came and buy breads on the way back home from walking or radio calisthenics.”

That’s the point which I recommend!

After fine exercise in nature and cool wind, taking freshly baked bread and brewed coffee.
How nice they are!

It is not bad to live in a little town where we can enjoy morning like this, I am thinking recently.

A Hostel with house, like a little house in a picture book is introducing a little bakery like a nursery song.

カリっカリで、ふわっふわで、おいし〜！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

さあ、朝です。

居心地が良いのか、ここで早起きするゲストはあまりいないのですが、本当は朝の散歩してもらいたかったりします。

西に歩けば、海がすぐ、、、
東に歩けば、山がすぐ、、、散歩にはもってこいの環境です。

そして、散歩の帰りに寄ってもらいたいのがこちらです。

もう50年近くこの場所で営業しているパン屋さん。
「灯火」から歩いて３分ほどの距離にあります。

で、こちらのオススメはなんといってもこの地域の名物「キングパン」！

子供の頃はアンパンなどと並んで普通のパンだと思ってましたが、
実はこの地域にしか無いパンだとのこと、、、
先日、お会いした町の生き字引もそう言っていました。
（たしかに東京で食べたことはありません。）

メロンパンの呼び名が違うだけじゃないの、
と思っている方もいるかもしれませんが、
一口食べてみれば、その違いはすぐに分かります。

外側はカリっカリでビスケットみたい。
そして内側は綿花のようにふわっふわです。

子供の頃はそのタイプから、まず中のふわふわから食べる子、逆に外のカリっカリから食べる子と二種類に分かれていました。どちらの食べ方でもおいし～のがこの「キングパン」たる所以です。

昔はこの「キングパン」を焼くパン屋さん多かったのですが、その多くが廃業されています。

平成になってから人気のスタイルのパン屋さんではありませんが、
ここには美味しくて、懐かしい「昭和の味」があります。

お店から50m以内にコンビニ業界1位・2位のセブン・ローソンのある環境で生き残っている状況がその美味しさを証明しています。

聞けば、この時期で朝７時前から、夏だと朝６時頃から営業しているとのこと。
朝暗いうちからの散歩やラジオ体操の帰りに買って帰るお客さん多いのよって教えてくれました。

つまりそこがオススメなんです。

朝一番で自然の中を散歩して、気持ちよく運動したあとの焼きたてのパンと淹れたての珈琲。

そんな素敵な毎朝が送れる町って悪くないよね、なんて考える今日この頃です。
