Smell of Winter

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

My prayers seem to have been answered and there was sunshine on Japanese Labor Thanksgiving holiday.

We thought that our guests scheduled to check-in the day can come easy with sunny weather. However it was very very windy. As the result , temperature of Kanmon area could not go up enough.

To survive such cold days, we started to use this.

A small kerosene heater!

Not like a electric air conditioner, it make us become warm from inside.

Of course, with energy save mode!

As dining room of TOUKA is not so wide, this small heater is enough warm.

Faint smell of kerosene heater is smell of winter in my memory.
I can also feel like in a mountain lodge.

冬の匂い

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。

前日の祈りが通じて、勤労感謝の祝日は青空を望む天気になりました。

これでチェックイン予定のゲストも気持ちよく来れると思ったら、、、
風がビュービュー吹いて、結局、関門エリアの気温は上がらずじまいでした。

そんな寒い季節を乗り切るために、今週から登場しました。

「石油ストーブ」 （＊ファンヒータではありません。）

エアコンとは違い、芯から温まる暖かさです。

もちろんエネルギー・セーブで！

「灯火」のダイニングは狭いのでこれでも十分温かいんです。

ほのかなストーブの匂いはまさに冬の匂い。
良く言えば山小屋の雰囲気でしょうか。

うまい、やすい、かんたん！/ Good Guesthouse Food!

Good Guesthouse Food!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

I thought about Guesthouse Food*.

* Guesthouse Food:
* Guests can cook at our kitchen.
* Material cost is not expensive and
* Guest can share with others.
(Cost less than 500JPY for more than 3 people)
* Healthy, not like junk food,
* Easy to cook.
* Cook in short time (shorter than 30min)
* And delicious/good “Japanese Food”.

After thinking and thinking, it must be this!

As Japanese buy and eat Chinese Mooncake (yuè bǐng) any time, our guests can cook and eat ZOUNI not in SHOGATSU (new year).

Plus I made this simple desert.

Next question is which guest I should ask to try cooking.

うまい、やすい、かんたん！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

ゲストハウス・フード*を考えてみました。

* ゲストがキッチンに立って作れる。
* 材料費が安くて、
* シャアできる。（500円で3人分以上）
* ヘルシーで、
* 簡単に出来る。
* 手早く（30分以内）作れる。
* で、旨い「日本の料理」

考えた結果、コレだと思いました。

そう、雑煮です。

日本人が月餅をいつでも買えるように、
外国人ゲストであれば、正月でなくて食べてもいいでしょう。

ついでにこんなデザートも作ってみました。

日本のおいしいりんごを使うので、うまい、やすい、かんたんです。

 

さあ、あとはどのゲストに試してもらうかですね。
