Let us introduce Class B Gourmet of our neighbor!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

It was sunny and warm spring Sunday, yesterday.
And I got a small gratification.

Before lunch, I watched TV unintentionally. Men’s cooking program was on air. The theme was Class B Gourmet of SAGA prefecture. In the program, one Class B snack was introduced and MC (famous Johnny’s office talent and son of famous cooking expert) spoke it very highly with commenting “this food must be sold in airport and station.” So I thought that I will try it next time I will visit Saga.

However in the same day, I found the snack in the nearest supermarket.

And it costs only 99JPY.

Yes, I bought it without doubt. And I took one bite as soon as arriving here.
It was very good!

There are 2 pieces in a package and I heated the second one in the oven and took another bite. It was much better. They have two taste, normal and curry, and both are good.

It was my small gratification that I could eat food unexpectedly, which I wanted to eat some day in future.

Today I reported about food of our neighbor, not Yamaguchi on the other side of us, but Saga in our west.

Thank you and you have a nice day, with unexpected small gratifications.

P.S. Yes, we recommend this to our guests, because it is good with beer and we can buy it here.

Surprise! Sweets with eel taste.

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

As we communicate with various guests from other countries, we found new idea/feeling we never experienced before.

unagi01

There were 4 boys stayed here as a group. They were talking each other in our dining room with eating snacks. Suddenly they said “가위바위보(KAI-BAI-BO = Rock-Paper-Scissors)” and last person ate something.

It was :

unagi02

(MITARASHI DANGO = traditional Japanese sweets)

I thought they fought for DANGO, because it was so delicious.

So I asked them “MASHISSOYO ( = 맛있어요 delicious) ?”

Their reply was unexpected answer.

“MADOPSOYO ( = not good)”

As it was popular sweet among us Japanese, I asked them “Why?”

They answered me with Japanese.

“U-NA-GI ( = eel)”

It seems that our traditional sweets (Mitarashi Dango) taste like baked eel (UNAGI no Kabayaki) for their tongue.

unagi03

Later, when I got SANSHO (special Japanese spice for eel), I powdered it on MITARASHI DANGO. And I found it REALLY tastes like UNAGI.

Thank you and you have a nice day, enjoying fresh new experiences without bias.

Not enough to just get luck. Make it yours!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

At the midnight festival in Kanmon, our guest got bunch of MOCHIs from goblin on the bamboo. Of course, the MOCHI (rice cake) contains full of lucks.

2018shinji22

But she cannot eat the MOCHIs as they are (very hard).
(Though she bit it, because she misunderstand it as DAIFUKU MOCHI. laugh)
As we are Japanese Guesthouse, we cooked ZOUNI together and let her eat it.

2018shinji23

It was her first experience of ZOUNI but she seemed to like it.

She added a lot of homemade (my mother made) “YUZU-GOSHO” in it, and eat ZOUNI, with shouting “TEBA!” “TEBA!” several times.

2018shinji21

( TEBA (대박)! is YABAI! (Awesome!) in Japanese. It is funny that young generation use the word similarly.)

Our familiar taste can be special taste for tourists.

As she got lucky MOCHI, we helped her to get the luck into herself.

Thank you and you have a nice day, with full of lucks!

P.S. It is not bad to enjoy new year twice in a year.
