All We Need Is?!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

The long-awaited day of local people was settled on March 10th, 2019.

Yes, it is the Grand Open of the landmark of our town “Mojiko Station”.
(Picture is the station of this week.)

It may be not so precious, because station was already opened partly in last Nov., such as ticketing room and so on. However the Grand Open will come on coming Mar.10th. They are planning several events with lighting-up and projection mapping after Mar.9 to end of March. We can not help exciting about the grand open.

By the way, I have one concern about the events in next three months.
No many people aware of that event of lighting up whole port town is till Mar.17. This means that the station will be lightened till Mar.31 but any other place/building will be dark after Mar.17. Normally, people will extend port town lighting up to corroborate to the celebration. But how they will manage these. We have to pay attention to the people can work flexibly or not.

(Kitakyushu has not a few similar disappointing episodes. Such as that the huge factory funnel “Iron Tree”, famous as night landmark, was announced to be broke down in the same month of getting award of “the Best Three Night View Town of Japan”. And city’s Tourism Promotion Section is making efforts to get inbound movement, but other section announced to close hot spring, which is only one facility in this city. Those are so Kitakyushu, never happen in Fukuoka, who is keep developing, and pathetic character of our home town.)

キーワードはフレキシビリティーとコラボレーション！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

地元待望の日が来る3月10日に設定されました。

そうです、わが町のランドマーク「門司港駅のリニューアル・グランドオープン」です。

すでに先の１１月には部分オープンと銘打って、チケット売り場等は公開・利用開始されているので、有難味はそれほど無いのかもしれませんが、そうは言ってもグランドオープンですよ。オープン前夜の3月9日から3月いっぱいのライトアップやプロジェクションマッピング等も予定されているそうです。期待ふくらみますね。

門司港駅 全面開業でイベント (NHK 01月09日)

そんななか、ひとつ気になるのは、町全体としてのお祝いムード。

気にしている人は少ないかもしれませんが、町としてのライトアップは予定では3月17日までです。さあ駅のお祝いだ！と思って行ったら町全体がキラキラするのはオープンして１週間だけ。普通ならこの二つのライトアップ（駅と港町）コラボレーションするべきだと思いますが、関係者はどう動くでしょう？フレキシブルに対応できるか、地元の力に注目です。

（北九州ってこれに似た残念な対応少なくないです。例えば新日本三大夜景に選ばれた直後に夜のランドマークの煙突「アイアンツリー」の撤去が報道されたり。インバウンドで頑張るって宣言しときながら、唯一の自然派天然温泉を休館したり。そんな残念なところが北九州らしくて、いまや飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いの博多にはない愛おしさだったりしますが、、、）
