Lesson: Any one can meet with a Disaster!

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

One guest, who checked out this week, he came from the last stop, Hiroshima.

According to him, he arrived at Hiroshima airport on the severe rain day. He could meet with the host at the station and be picked up. However heavy rain cause falling rocks on the way to the hostel and they couldn’t arrive there. They had to stay one night in the car.

After that day, he could not get any public transportations and have to stay Hiroshima more than his original plan. He couldn’t visit sightseeing spot in Yamaguchi.

Anyway, both of us were happy with meeting at TOUKA without any serious injury
or damage. He seemed well but he might be very tired, because he kept sleeping at TOUKA till almost noon. In the super fine weather, he checked out with smiling for the next stop, UNZEN, Nagasaki.

We learned from his experience, that not only residents but also tourists have possibility to meet with serious disaster.

So I recognized that I should take care and prepare for various type of disaster at both time, when I will travel and welcome guests.

教訓：誰しも被災するリスクがある！

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。
おはようございます。

今週チェックアウトしたゲストさん、彼は前泊地 広島からやって来ました。

大雨の日に広島空港に到着し、宿の人に駅でピックアップしてもらったまでは良かったもの、落石等で山間部にある宿には辿り着けず、宿の車で車中泊することになったそうです。

その後も交通機関がシャットダウンしたことで旅程は大幅に狂い、予定していた山口の観光地にも寄れず、広島から関門へ直行したそうです。

何はともあれ、無事だったことが幸いだと喜びました。想定外の災害に遭遇して疲れ切ったのか、「灯火」ではお昼近くまでぐっすりとお休みになられて、晴天の中、笑顔で次の目的地、雲仙へと出発して行きました。

いったん災害が発生すると、住民だけでなく旅行者も同様に被災することを彼から学びました。

自分自身が旅行する際も、ホストとして旅行者を迎え入れる際も、災害に対するリスクを認識して準備・心構えしなくてはと気付かされました。
