Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

Since the next day of the end of Japanese rainy season “TSUYU”, it has been sunny and hot everyday here, Kanmon.

As friends in Tokyo are claiming about weather there, these are my present for them.

Watching sunset with a can of beer in one hand,

Feeling the sea breeze from Straits,

Let’s forget about stressful matters.

Please relax and enjoy the nature here!

There are more pictures from previous week, because it has been really sunny everyday for these two weeks.
I think that these are enough to feel close but forgotten paradise.
They are different everyday but beautiful everyday.

I don’t think sunset in Hawaii is more beautiful than these.

Anyway, there are bunch of cold beers in TOUKA’s refrigerator, and they are waiting for you.

Oops, this is not good topic for commuting time in Tokyo.

But you have a nice beer day!

「毎日違って、毎日いいっ！」

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

2週間前に梅雨が開けてから、関門では毎日暑いお天気が続いています。

ようやく梅雨が開けてもすっきりしない東京の空に文句を言ってた仲間へ
ここで見る一週間分の夕陽を捧げます。

沈んでいく太陽を眺めながら、片手にビールを握って、

海峡を越えてきた少し温度の低い海風を全身で感じて、

ストレスの多い毎日なんか忘れましょう。

ここで、自然の中にいることを感じてリラックスして欲しいです。

さらに一週前の夕陽も毎日キレイだったけれど、こんな感じで。
本当は身近にあるのに忘れてただけのパラダイスに気付きます。
毎日違って、毎日いい。

ハワイの夕陽にも負けないよなぁって感じます。

とにかく「灯火」の冷蔵庫にはビールが冷えていて、貴方に飲まれたいと待ってます。

この話、通勤時間には適切ではないかもしれません。

どうぞ最高にビールが旨い一日をお過ごしください。

Japanese Title (邦題)：「福岡県に新しい市誕生！」末尾に

Good morning to the World and Kanmon!

“Kanmon” is unique area in Japan, I have thought for many years.

Because, “KAN=関” of “Kanmon” is named after Shimonoseki (下関).
And because “MON=門” of “Kanmon” is named after Moji (門司).

So, KANMON is a combined name of two different city, Shimonoseki & Moji* (*Moji used be a city) on either bank of Kanmon Straits.

It is most interesting that these two cities belongs to different Prefectures.

There is some other areas like this in Japan, but not so many.
For example KEIHIN(京浜), KEIYOU(京葉), MEISHIN(名神), etc.
These areas are way bigger area than KANMON.

In conclusion, Kanmon Straits are too narrow to be named after only one side.

It is so narrow that there is many funny customs in Kanmon.

For example, when people in Moji entertained guests from other place, they brought guest Shimonoseki for sightseeing and seafoods even different pref. On the other hand, people in Shimonoseki often come shopping across the Straits.

So do TOUKA. We post so many topics about the other bunk positively.

Recently we have an interesting finding. When we checked Facebook access information, we found that there are accesses from interesting city.

“Shimonoseki-shi, Fukuoka, Japan”

It seems Facebook assumes Shimonoseki as a city of Fukuoka. And we saw it very natural.

Anyway, we should increase the value of Kanmon together with Shimonoseki, no matter it belongs to Fukuoka or Yamaguchi.

「福岡県に新しい市誕生！」

世界中に朝が、そして関門にもあさが来ました。おはようございます。

福岡県に新しい市が誕生！その名もSHIMONOSEKI!

事あるごとに提唱してきた「関門」という独立した共同体。

日本にあって、県を越境して命名された地名としてかなり集中・凝縮されたエリア「関門」

対岸同士の交流は名前だけに留まらず、時を超えて人の行き来を生んでいます。

例えば、門司（北九州）の人間は東京など本州からはるばる九州へと遊びに来たお客を、わざわざ下関・唐戸に観光に連れて行き、結果として本州を見せるという掟破りの「お・も・て・な・し」を気にも留めずに続けているし、下関の若者は最新のファッションを手に入れに普通に海峡を渡ってやってきたりしています。

そんなことを考えながら「灯火」としても、対岸の話題を積極的に記事にしているわけですが、最近とっても嬉しい気付きがありました。

ふとしたことで Facebookのアクセス解析を見たところ、アクセス元の都市名に面白い記述を見つけました。

Facebookとしての認識なのか、アクセスした個人の認識なのか、正確なことはわかりませんが、下関を福岡の都市だと捉える感覚に、とてもうれしくなってしまいました。

♫ ふたりあわせて関門だぁ ♫
♫ きぃみとぼぉくとで関門だぁ ♫

これからも「関門」として素敵なエリアでありたいですね。
